sorry cody
but you must have not been watching during the last six words of the anthem.
some (not all) left after three of those last six words
i am not near as embarrassed for them for that as i was for the language they used. it seems to go unnoticed by their adults on the field. but you can't miss hearing it at the fence. -
HF takes this one and puts themselves in position to grab one of those coveted playoff spots.
-
The start of this snowball effect?
IMO
The final out of the first game of district vs. Livingston.
Remember that strange play?
Their season in a nut shell.
And it was'nt the coach that over ran second base!
PNG might or might not have scored one more to tie it up and go on to win the game, but we will never know.

I wish Houdini would "disappear"!!!!!!!!!!
to the 1A Basketball message board or the bulletin board at the mill.
I do wish his Evadale team the best of luck though.
I just don't understand his ax to grind with BC, who by the way, will be in the playoffs this year. They have been beaten by what is probably a better team than them, and lost one they shouldn't have. Name a team in the area that hasn't lost one they shouldn't have. It happens. I recently asked one of the winningest coaches in the area over the last twenty years who were the top two or three coaches that he did not want to coach against and one guy he included in the group was Coach Landry from Bridge City. He will get them in the post season. Heck its not impossible for his team to win the district still.
Go stir the pot elsewhere Houdini. -
If I remember right, your son was from Dayton. The same team where one young man was nicknamed by this message board as "double duty." I think I can safely say he was the most used pitcher in the short history of the website.

All kids on the team are to treated exactly the same.
But when it comes to making pitch count decisions, and rest between outings decisions, they are not to be treated the same.
If they are never going to play again, and the coach knows this, he can be a little more lax in the decision making process on how much and when.
If the kid is going to pitch or play in college the rules tighten.
If the kid is even a maybe on getting drafted his rules should be rigid.
Develop 6 or 8 pitchers so you dont have to rely on one guy.
I know one high school team in this area that has gone years at a time without having a pitcher go over 100 pitches.
So it can be done. -
Who is Chesters Coach?

Nice win boys!

How far is that bus ride?

Way to go Hornets!

Nederland should be more competitive than they have been of late. Definately not as good as the teams of the nineties.
-
Nederland will probably surprise some people. Sampere will be the #1. Bellow, Dean, McFarland, Richard, and Roberts, give good depth to the bullpen.
It is impossible for Nederland to surprise some people by doing well. They are a perrenial power house baseball team. They are expected to win. For them to surprise the people from southeast texas, they would have to stay home from the playoffs. When that happens, like last year, the baseball community is surprised.

With all due respect, you lost you statistical respectability when you called an 0 for 1 with three walks, 3 for 4 in Saturday's game. That is not how this game works. A walk does not count as an official at-bat, much less a hit. Therefore your claim to a 4 for 4 night against Nederland holds no validity when the paper says 2 for 4.
District average by a legit scorekeeper? 2 for 5 with some walks and some errors. Still a good weekend for a fine player. Just not 7 for 8.

on this play they asked for a ruling, but there was no argument over the call made by the umpires on this play.

What a great win for Vidor. Who cares about Tuesday. Win the one your in. I bet they have plenty of pitching. I heard it was one of their strengths this year.
who cares about tuesday? the pirates will at about 9:30 pm tuesday
no disrespect espn2
but the winner of the jasper round robin tournament does not go to the post season. the winner of the eight team double round robin tournament that starts tuesday, does.

Crow tastes like s@#%$%^% but yeah congrats to EC ' date='dont know when Buna will figure out hail Marys against the best pass defenders in the district does not work. Kids worked their butts off, should of been a much closer game. two things you cant overcome Coaches and Referees, and the REFs were not that bad.[/quote']
Bluebleeder, you left out one thing that a team can't overcome. That would be an ignorant parent that knows next to nothing about football, who thinks his son is better than he really is, and that sits at home telling his son that the loss is not the players' fault, but the coaches. When in actuality Lou Holts might not could have coached Buna to a win over EC this year.
I am curious. Can you tell me what loyalty tastes like? I have a feeling you cannot.

I Played for moody last year and this year. But when I heard all this Crap I walked out the door just like 5 other team mates did.
B- Bears
O- Over come
J- Joined as
O- One
I don't know what role BumblinBear and his five friends played, but they were all replaced with players that did not quit on their teammates, coaches, and community.
It seems to me that once the team was rid of the guys that did not want to be there, LCM played their best game in many years.
I always hear football people talking about numbers. "We need to keep the numbers up". This is a mistake in my opinion made by many football coaches. I think they need to change the wording a little. It should be in my opinion. "We need to find some kids that we can count on, that will buy into a philosophy that has been very successful in the past, that will be coachable, that will pass their classes, and not quit on their teammates."
Less quantity and more quality!

Who did all of these candidates post their numbers against?
was 11 at bats in two games? if so, were they weak opponents?
-
Will11,
You have all of the answers. You should become a coach. You know when to "BUNT, SQUEEZE, SAC, TAKE IT THE OTHER WAY, PUT IT ON THE GROUND", and teach kids that are hitting .400 to hit .400+.
Did you also know that the kid you are referring to has over 150 hits in his career, but with your help, he would be zeroing in on the 300 mark.
He also has the most hits in a season in the 30 year history his school. (which is somewhere in the ballpark of 53)
Somebody fix this kid before he does not take his team to the playoffs.
Never mind he already has (four times)
Somebody fix him before he breaks numerous school hitting records.
Never mind he already has.
Somebody fix him before he does not receive a D-1 scholarship.
Never mind he already has.
Some body tell his coach to give him the bunt sign.
Never mind he already has.
Somebody fix him before he does not develop into one of the finest young men in southeast texas baseball.
Never mind! He already has!

55? to 4?

TheTruth101
You are calling out a portion of the HJ team and pointing out their faults in many areas.
I am calling you out. I really don't think a Professional Scout from the East Texas Region makes four posts on this board calling out the under achievement of a portion of one local high school team.
You need to change your name to, TheTruth(but it's not really the truth because I am a disgruntled player or parent and not a scout)101

Rule 8
Section 1 When a batter becomes a runner
d. a pitched ball hits his person or clothing
Exception:If he makes no effort to avoid being hit
Rule 7
Section 3
4. a hitter cannot PERMIT a pitched ball to touch him

An umpire DOES NOT have to submit all incidents.
I have a problem with this statement. One coach gets ejected and it gets sent in and then another coach gets ejected and it does not.
Only 3 local teams left!!
