  1. Ty Parker of Jasper hit 2 home runs last night to raise his total to 10 on the year.
  2. Jasper sophmore Jacob Clark is a best newcomer in my book. He plays either corner infield position depending on pitching changes. He bats well with power and average with quality at bats. He even started pitching against Vidor / Hester in the Jasper Tournament game.
  3.   Derek Sowell of Jasper hit a 3 run homerun last night against Rusk.
  4. Tuesday night ( 4/13) against Huntington, Jasper's Sam Alvis and Tyler Ernest both hit a home run for the Dogs.
  5. Without a doubt Coach Shawn Mixon has proved to be the best in the decade.  With team play and blue collar work ethic, Jasper has made the playoffs since 1994 ( I believe, have to check clubhouse wall of fame next time through park ) without a missing a year with deep playoff runs that fuels the next years chances. Great job Jasper coaches ( Mixon, Smith, Brown, Trevino ) and keep up the good work. Congrats on the quick 300 win start with a ring to go with it.

  12. After a 12 hour day and 1 hour drive, I will be listening to the Dogs/ Hudson on the radio ( KJAS)107.3 and keeping up with BC/OF on SETX SPORTS. You gotta love it, two great games in one day.
  13. We finally get to see some playoff atmosphere 21 3A baseball this Friday. Welcome to the real world. The winner should definately move up along with Carthage. I still have to go with Hicks and Co. ( good pitching.......). Should be a good game and wish it was televised along with the next Nederland/ Vidor game.
  14.  Congrats to Carthage on a playoff type win. The 18 3A playoff teams will be battle tested and ready for a run with the Hudson/Carthage /Jasper close games this year. It was a good game to see and a gut wrencher for all 7 innings. Both pitchers did a good job to keep it close and the defense was almost flawless for both teams. Tyler Ernest led Jasper in hits.  The wind was a big factor for both teams with it coming in very hard.  All Sam Alvis needed was a green jersey as he roamed in his future centerfield home, ( Panola ) taking away several extra base hits for some tuff outs last night. It's just one game with another hard one Friday with playoff implications against Hudson. Go Dogs.
  15. Colton Burleson started and went 4 and was relieved by Derek Sowell who finished the game. Give Center credit with some timely hits and defense to strand several Jasper potential scores. Jasper turned several double plays in the middle with Ernest and Soisson and 3b Parker Phillips showed a good glove on several hot shots. Sam Alvis continues to run down routine hits for outs in center field and Ty Parker shuts down the running game down.  Jasper hitters staying hot were S Alvis 2 hits, P Phillips 2 hits, T Parker 2 hits 2 walks, T Ernest 3 rhr, . Dogs needed a close one to realize how important each individual at bat is to sieze the moment to keep rally innings alive. Next week Carthage and Hudson on the road. As usual KJAS.com will carry the live game and post game wrap up with pictures.
  16.   Tyler Ernest of Jasper hit a 3 run homerun tonight against Center.
  17. Sam Alvis 2 (total 6) and Derek Sowell 1 (total 4) tonight
  18. Another close one in 21 3A with a good pitchers showcase. The district champ might have a tough time getting there without a loss. Watch out from the blind side when you rest you ace pitcher.
  19. Jasper 12-1 over Lufkin Central in 5. Homerun Jacob Clark ( 2 ).
  20. Sophmore Jacob Clark ( 2 ) of Jasper got his second homerun tonight.
  21. That score was a lot closer than I expected. WOS may need to get some love from the pollsters.
