  1. Texas Prospects win close game vs Sun Devil Gold 5-3 at Olsen Field. Both teams with players at RR for All Star Game.
  2. I'm sure LL can top that % , just saying.
  3. Texas Prospects Black ( Ty Parker ) vs SE Texas Sun Devils this Friday at noon at Olsen Field, TAMU. Other Jasper players playing at SHSU this weekend with TP Gray 18u.
  4.     Ty Parker is playing with the Texas Prospects Black 18u next week in B/CS with a noon game Friday at Olsen Field. Later tournaments are ULL wood bat, Oral Roberts Tulsa OK.,Tyler Tx ( all prospects teams), another A&M tournament, finishing up in Clearwater Florida. As with the Sun Devils ,some of the black team will be in Round Rock this next weekend.     Jacob Soisson,Colton Burleson, and Derek Sowell will play for the Texas Prospects Gray 18u this summer with Sam Houston State this weekend, Elk City OK., Texas State, Tyler Tx, and others. Schedules can be seen at the Texas Showcase League website.  I think Sam Alvis is playing in NE Texas with a team with some La Tech Signees and others.     See Texas Showcase League for summer schedules.

  7. This will be a great camp!  Pass the word because it starts Monday morning.
  8. Who could have drawn up a better scenerio than the 3A playoff brackets for great local games so close to the Triangle. Even though the outcomes were less than expected it was a great year for local baseball with deep runs by most teams with State appearances by Evadale and Jasper. Congratulations to all playoff teams for a job well done from 1A to 5A and TAPPS.     Thank for a great four year run for our Jasper coaches and thanks for all the extra work that goes on that nobody but the spouses and children of coaches see. We appreciate everything that you do. Also good luck to the Brown family as they go to Center in 18 3A and Coach Brown takes over as the new Head Coach. Hopefully we will see some tournament baseball from Center in the GT area.     As one page is turned another becomes clearer and summer ball starts next week for several Jasper players as Soisson,Burleson, Sowell, and Ty Parker start with the Texas Prospects in the Texas Showcase League. They will be playing in the 18u Gray and Black teams at a college town near here as well as Alvis playing in a North East Texas league with several LT signees. Good luck this summer and next year in college fall ball.
  9. Good job Dogs   261   So close now to walking away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Great catches like the one at Westbrook against WOS speak loud enough.
  11. Time very well spent last summer for Ty and Josh Clark of Buna. With over 125 at bats against some future D1 and JC pitchers, the two juniors fine tuned their swings met a lot of new friends. Buna's Josh Clark and Kolby Baxter are currently in Oklahoma, with 2 victories and no losses playing for the Oklahoma Ambasssadors. One of the keys to Jasper's run is a healthy Tyler Ernest ( knee ) and Ty ( healthy ) for a full season this year.
  12. BC will see Sowell, Burleson and or Alvis to get a win in game 2. The bats will be back with a little less velocity from the next BC pitcher. Hats off to Matt Hicks, if he isn't the best in SE Texas the roll call is very short before getting to his name.
  13. Congrats to BC and MATT HICKS for a good game and win. Hopefully he can't pitch every game! Way to go Dogs for not giving up and good job Soph. Tyler Bolton for finishing strong.
  14. Those hecklers you speak of are the STRIKE ZONE FANS. And yes they are VERY LOUD and VERY PROUD of their Jasper Bulldogs. Most are students in JHS and learned from their older siblings. Some of the better drummers are jv baseball players that even make up some of the chants. The DOGS love them and are used to the noise, even though it may rattle some other teams.
  15. Keep up the good work Indians and carry the 4A torch for the area. Congrats on the level you have achieved with you best pitcher out and way to step up Blake and Sweet and Co. You have been pitching well since 10yo and now everyone can see it. Keep it up Indians we are pulling for you.
  16. I think Robinson has played a higher level of preseason and post season talent this year. Top 20 ratings at this stage mean nothing and it should be a good series that will stretch the pitching of both teams. I say Robinson in two but hope it goes three for the benefit of the fans as this is the time of the year for some great local baseball. It doesn't get any easier after this week either.
  17. How about a type of home and away with Nederland and Woodville as the fields. The travel inconviences will be about the same on this graduation ( Jasper ) weekend for both teams/fans. Both fields have covered stands with ample room for stand up visibility outside of the seating areas. Flip a coin on which location is first and a double header to finish on Saturday. One of the teams will play another big weekend so field prices could come into effect as the road to Austin continues.
  18. Derekkkkkkkkk has pitched most of the hard matchup games this year and continues to pile up SO's that match any of the top 3A pitchers this year. The Dogs are blue collar and know how to work with a team effort to get the tough wins.  Go Dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. That would be nice but there are way too many curves in this road too look that far ahead. Crockett was a very tough opponent and I see why they got passed Lorena. They hit the ball very well and stayed toe to toe with Jasper until the end. Good job by the Jasper pitchers, defense and offense to get through in two and rest until next week. Time for the coaches to get out on that road and burn up that scouting budget.  jk    Go Dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Jaspers playing @ home Friday
  21. Jasper 10-Buna 0        Jasper pitched C. Burleson, S Alvis, T. Bolton.
  22. Can't beat those full rides. Great job Josh, good school and a possible trip to JC  World Series without having to go through San Jacinto. Have fun and tell those Sooners hi for us.
  23. Jasper pitchers    Sowell        3 inn      5 SO                         Alvis                        4 SO                         Burleson      2 2/3      4 SO      Key hits and walks by  T Ernest            W        2R single                               Ty Parker          HBP    2  Doubles                               D Sowell                      2 R single                                 L Nerio              HBP    Double                                 C Draper                    Single                                  P Phillips            RBI    Single May have left some stats out but Dogs played well with several good defensive plays that stranded several Burnet runners in scoring position.
  24. Jasper 18 3A District Champs have a bye. A warm up game with #16 Burnet is scheduled for Tuesday at A&M Consolidated ( 7:00 I think )
  25.
