  1. Nice to see PNG on the list. But the real list that matters at the moment is District Standings 4-0. If the Indians take one game at a time, correct the errors, and stay motivated, they should finish in the top three teams to advance.
  2. This should be a great game. Both teams have very talented players. I hope the fans from both teams cheer on their teams in a positive way and hope that all the players finish the game healthy.
  3. Well, it looks like Jon (Chic-Chick) Gun left his bullets at home tonight against PNG. Hate to point out anybody's errors, but you guys gave VJ Bunner some smack. Mr. Gunn proved that he is just like everybody else, not perfect!
  4. You can add another HR for Harrington from tonight's game against LCM. Also, we had a freshman, Amir Jalali hit a HR on his first at bat in varsity.
  5. Don't worry about bringing your GPS to the reservation, unless or course you would like to locate our long balls from tonight :-*
  6. Well, looks like LCM got taken down a few notches tonight with just our two pitchers Todd and Harrington. By the way, we have a long list of pitchers that haven't seen the field yet. We will have strong arms as we move forward in district.
  7. Big props go to Mitch Todd and Eric Harrington for great pitching outings. Todd gave a great performance on the mound and got the win and Eric came in and finished the game with the save when Mitch showed a little fatigue. Big congratulations to Amir Jalali for his first at bat in varsity and took the pitch deep over the left field fence. Eric also hit another HR to tie up the game in the first inning. PNG played error-free ball and the bats were there when they needed to be. LCM has a good team and I think this reality check will help them regroup. Winning takes a combination of things to happen, good pitching, good hitting, good group efforts. THis district is going to be some great baseball and fun to watch.
  8. What happened to Wallace from WB? Hope its not serious
  9. Spikes was at practice today with an ankle brace. Didn't look like it was bothering him.
  10. By the way, Todd pitches for PNG, not LCM ;D
  11. Harrington for PNG? Maybe, he only threw 5 innings and a low pitch count. If not, Todd can easily get the job done for PNG. He didn't get to play varsity the last several years due to health reasons, but he's back, healthy and throwing great. Lots of backup to help him, if needed. I think this will be a good game. Also, good solid base hits wins games, not always HR's. Both teams are capable of both. Lets hope it is an injury free game and won or lost by the players (in other words, here's hoping for great umps!)
  12. I nominate Eric Harrington - PNG 5IP, 18AB, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 7K's Also scored two runs, reaching base on a BB, single, intentional walk
  13. This is what I have for PNG (counting scrimmages) Harrington 5 Rhame 2 Garcia 1 Carnahan 1 If I missed anyone, please post. Still working on batting averages. Will try and post tomorrow. By the way, I don't keep the official books. I keep them to stay interested in the game. For official stats, you would have to get that from Coach Stone.
  14. Great outing by Harrington. 5 IP, 18 AB, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 1HBP, 7 K's. Hits for PNG - Harrington 1 Single, Reyenga 2 Singles, Benoit 1 Single, Sangster 1 Single Lott struggled at the plate and had no help defensively. Panthers were plagued by errors. Lott pitched 3 2/3 IP, 25 AB, 5H, 10R, 5ER, 5BB, 4K's 2 HBP 2 INT Walks (Harrington and Carnahan) and 5 team errors (that number may be off a little. The 3rd inning was pretty wild and was hard to keep up with who did what!) Lott will come back. He is a good pitcher, great kid and works hard. Hold up your head DEE-DEE and go get the rest of the teams! :0)
  15. PNG game against Ozen has been moved to the PNG field tonight
  16. Apology accepted. You couldn't be more wrong about self promotion. I do mention Carnahan alot, because I know him better than any other. I also know the other players and give them props all of the time. Most of our senior boys have been playing together since Pony Colt/Babe Ruth days, along with the seniors of most of the other teams. It has been a pleasure watching these boys develop and I wish the best for all of them. By the way, Coach Stone teaches our boys how to hit for runs, not just the long ball. If the long ball happens, its great, but not necessary to win games. A good thread would be to ask the teams/individual batting averages, hits, etc. I can and will supply that for PNG when I get the book back.
  17. The PNG vs Ozen game will be played at the PNG field tonight due to the weather conditions. PNG covered the field yesterday and it is playable. Game time is still set for 7:00 p.m.
  18. I actually don't have the book. I lent it to a teammates dad that keeps the stats and will get it back today. When I have it back, I'll let you know. And by the way, I wish all the kids the same good luck each game. I'm not into self promotion, if you know me, you should know that.
  19. It was great finally getting these games in on Saturday. The boys arrived at 6:00 pm on Thursday and didn't get to play until Saturday at 12:00. The victory goes to the coaches for keeping the players entertained in a positive way. It was a long weekend for everyone and I'm glad it ended on a good note.
  20. Well I agree with most of these comments, however, I do feel that Coach Stone and Coach Brevell at PNG spend quite a bit of time teaching/practicing the basics in defense. If you ever come to a practice at PNG you will see quite a bit of infield work being done. PNG has turned at least 5 or 6 double plays, 6-4-3, 5-2-3, 4-6-3. They also spend a lot of time with the catcher(s), with blocking balls in the dirt, catching pop-ups, throw-downs to each base, etc. It shows in that Carnahan has not had one passed ball yet this season and has a high percentage of throwing out players on each of the bases. While in-field work is being done, another coach is working with the outfielders catching pop-flys. They also practice when to hit the cut-off and when to let it go through for the out. They do spend time with hitting at the end of practice, but it is very controlled. I don't know how this compares to other schools, because I have not been to their practices. Coach Stone takes errors very seriously (as you may have heard him in a game :0)
  21. Congrats to Aaron Bender. What a sweet victory after they way you were hassled at your tournament last weekend. Knowing that the good person you are and feeling terrible when you injured the Barbe player, it was also a huge mental victory for you! Keep up the good work!
  22. PNG - Carnahan HR with 2 doubles against Tyler Lee (ball went over 400 ft into the woods at Angelina Junior College)
  23. By the way, the young man that got hit the other night has fractured bones in his eye socket and will need reconstructive surgery. I don't think that is worth a walk or hit by pitch. Only my opinion.
  24. Coop, when is the weather front coming in? I think PNG is moving their game up to 4:30 (not confirmed by coach at this time).
