  1. Happy Mothers Day to all moms (and/or single dads that take Moms place) that sat through 100 degree heat, or 45 degree wet cold, washed uniforms, made cookies, sold links, gave pats on the back or consolation when needed, or did without so he could have the best equipment, lessons, etc, to play this wonderful game we call baseball. :mp
  2. Game was much closer than score showed. The "bad" inning consisted of an overthrow by Powell on a sac bunt, a missed fly ball in right field by Cole Johnson, several hits, a walk, and a 3 run homer. Powell pitched a great game until that inning. These guys can be beat. The war paint will be on Friday night! Go Indians! :BB
  3. Hitting sats: Powell 3-4, 2 1b, 1 2b, 3 rbi, 1ROE Harrington o-3, 1BB Mire 1-2, HR 4rbi McInnis 1-2, HR 1 rbi, 1 hbp Morgan 3-3 2 1b, 1 2b Johnson 0-1, 2 BB Carnahan 3-3, 31b, 2rbi Bourgeois 0-1, 1BB, 1 rbi Flores 0-1, 1BB Barnett 1-1, 1b
  4. PNG fields were tarped yesterday, so they are going to try and play at 4:00 instead of 2:00 today.
  5. Blake is gone, but the Indians have rallied together. They are all helping to lead now. Pray the weather holds up and/or the Indians take the first game.
  6. To answer the question about Nederland, you have Aaron McFarland and Ryan Sampere (currently playing 1B and 3b, respectively). Both have strong arms and several good pitches.
  7. Watch out for Mitch Todd from PNG. Started season with health problems (non baseball related), but picked up steam through mid season on JV. He has a wicked curve ball and is very accurate hitting his spots. Great closer under pressure.
  8. Carnahan also performed well at the plate when put in line-up. Season stats: 47 AB (14h, 7 rbi, 5r) .298 avg; .383 SL Pct; .300 AVGRSF; .444 OBP, with 128 PO, 10A, 0 E, 0DP, 1 PB. And in case of emergency, he can pitch (was in the starting rotation last year for PNG fresman team, then moved up mid-season to JV).
  9. Carnahan (soph) is the catcher. He has done a good job for the Indians.
  10. PNG will play on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at PNG against Silsbee - not in Jasper
  11. Game 1..Fri. 7 PM at BH Game 2 Sat 2 PM at PNG Game 3 (if necessary) At PNG following game 2.
  12. Sorry to hear WB didn't make the playoffs, but those guys are all winners in my book. The played well after such a tragedy that affected the atheletic community. Although a different sport, I'm sure WB is like most other schools - all atheletes support each other. Hold your heads up high, play summer ball and come back strong in 2007!
  13. Is this game still on for Saturday at Indian field?
  14. Mitch Todd P-3B for PNG. Todd started baseball season out with health issues (non-baseball related) but is well on his way to being healthy. Great closer, has a great glove and swings a good bat.
  15. PNG might just surprise everyone tonight. Last time they met, PNG committed 6 errors and handed the game to LCM. PNG is playing much better defense - so it should be close! My prediction PNG 4 LCM 3 (in extra innings)
  16. PNG definitely seems to be having a hard time......what about the catcher filling in for Blake? Watched a few games and he seems to have stepped up (I think he is a soph) - also has a good bat
