Likely first round games? BC v Center Silsbee v Carthage Sota v Henderson HH/LCM v Kilgore

In 9-4A D-1 there is a big drop off between likely #3 seed (Carthage) and likely #4 seed (Center). Being the #1 seed in 10-4A would be a much easier path to the second round.

I predict that Silsbee...scores. The way offense is played today four consecutive goose eggs by WOS is really impressive. Im not ready to put them in '83 Daingerfields league just yet but if they pitch a couple more consecutive shut outs they will have earned that consideration.

Gilmer offense is really good. Gilmer defense is not. Seen the Bux twice now and they gave up 55 each time. Im not sure that Galdewater is not the best 4A D2 in NE Tx.

Gilmer QB threw for almost 600 yards in his first start against LE. Their O is one of the best in the state...but their D is pretty average imo. Some of the Carthage guys say this is one of the best D's Surratt has had. Their O is not bad but appears to still be a work in progress. Should be a great game.

Im probably going to make the 30 mile run up Hwy 79 and check this one out Saturday. I would like to get a first hand look at what Hendo will be facing in a couple weeks.

I've always heard that great defense beats great offense so Im taking Carthage.

Im going with Silsbee because WOS knocked Hendo out of the playoffs in 1996...and I hold a grudge. JK...Stangs roll.

Pound for pound Newton is probably better...but it is a huge jump from 3A-D2 to 4A D-1. Silsbee takes this one.
