  1. I listen to the sportstalk show every week and usually call in. However, I have one question....where did Jeff Chapman go?
  2. No one said you had to join the BC to do any of those things. The only point of my post was to let those that don't know what the BC does be more informed and perhaps join us if they want. No one is obligated to do anything. It was an informational post. Nothing more, nothing less. Please do not make it more than that. I don't believe we are in competition. The only individuals that should be competing are the guys on the ice.
  3. We can all agree that we are all "fans" and that our respective groups have their place with the Wildcatter Organization. I can't tell you the opinions of the players because I don't have or need that personal of a relationship with them. I'm simply there to support the team and their endeavors. Fortunately, Coach Cameron understands our role in the organization and what our goals are this season. With his support, maybe this season the players won't "feel forced" to attend anything and will actually want to attend instead. With the new faces on the team this year, perhaps we'll have fresh attitudes and less egos......and more wins. Afterall, winning games is what the fans want to see. Booster club or no booster club....fan club or no fan club. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if not one player acknowledged any of us this season and simply focused on giving the fans what we would like to see......a winning season, for once.
  4. The Texas Wildcatters Booster Club was created to assist with supporting the Texas Wildcatters. We are much more than a fan club; we are the Team behind the Team. Here are just a few of the things the booster club offers members and provides the team. We purchase and provide road trip supplies (bottled water, snacks, fruit) for the team when they hit the road for a game. We also purchase and provide household supplies for their apartments (towels, sheets, cookware, small appliances, dishes, glassware, etc). We present the players with awards such as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month. We have several parties for the team, organization and booster members through out the season such as Meet and Greet Party, X-Mas Party and End of Season Party. We offer to members our Adopt a Player program, which enables family members to adopt one of the players from the team, and gives that family the opportunity to get to know the player on a more individual basis, included in the program is “Family Fun Nights Out†of bowling and miniature golf with your adopted player. Members have the opportunity to meet the team, individual players and the staff and be more involved with the team and staff than just the typical fan. We also have donated to several local charities throughout the last few seasons with funds raised throughout the year. We have the opportunity this season to provide funds to send individual players to specialized training camps. We have Pot Luck Dinners (home cooked items prepared by members) at the arena for the team after some home games and provide and serve breakfast during training camp to the team and coaching staff. If any of this sounds exciting to you or your family then don't wait, join the booster club and help out the Texas Wildcatters with some southern hospitality. Membership applications can be found at www.thetexaswildcattersboosterclub.com or contact any booster club officer. One last thing...here is a letter from Coach Cameron about the booster club inviting others to participate: :::August 25, 2006 Dear Fans, I would like to thank all those fans that have supported the Wildcatters in the past and continued thanks as we approach the new season. For those who may have some extra time on their hands and would like to be more involved with the club, there is a way to help the team more closely. This is through the Texas Wildcatters Booster Club. It is a fun way to meet new friends, meet the players and staff more closely and volunteer to help the coach and players make things run easier. The Wildcatters Booster Club is involved in a lot of fun and rewarding activities such as Road Trips, Adopt a Player, fund raising drives for charities and more importantly help raise awareness of the game of hockey in South East Texas. So if you find yourself with a little extra time on your hands join the Booster Club, it will be lots of fun. Sincerely, Malcolm Cameron Head Coach / Vice President of Hockey Operations:::: PigskinDiva "Give a man an inch, and he thinks he's a Ruler"
  5. Ok, I'll bite. PN-G has the best traditions. Their school is full of traditions that have been passed down and taught from generation to generation. Speaking as the devout Bulldog that I am, I can freely admit that I went to Taft Elementary and learned the PN-G fight song. I grew up in an Indian household in Nederland with a mother who desperately wanted to send her kids to school on friday wearing purple and white. We travelled the entire state in the 70's watching PNG in playoff games and state championships. My mother had Cherokee in place of her car horn. I still know the words to Cherokee today but is it really any wonder why? PNG has the best tradition because they cultivate it. It wasn't until I was in my mid 20's that I realized that Nederland even had words to their fight song. Shame on me, I know! Go ahead fellow Dog fans, let me have it!
