  1. If I get the jest of what the point is here concerning the 5A and 6A programs (formerly 4 & 5A).  I agree that talent may not be biggest issue RATHER  the use/incorrect use of it is- this comes from the coaching mindset (s), schemes, programs and when it is across the board - district by district, in our setx districts, we are all great HERE until we move on to play football in other areas.  Success is not 6-5 record and 1 and done.  The high scoring offense takes breaks/has bad games and if you don't have a sound defense, then you lose.

  3. Using Ned as a comparison not a measuring stick. I know what we're putting on the field. You say they have more talent than PNG? They had more talent than Ned, how did that work out?

True, but out of 10 times, Central beats NED 9. Do believe if Whaley was in and Jacquet was 100% was in backfield, the outcome could have been different.

Central is the most talented team in our district and they bring it to the field. PNG was my favorite to win district early on, not to disrespect them but sometimes it takes nitty, gritty play to win these type of games.

  4. Agree there is praise on board, but does he receive the acknowledgement of his program and what he does year and year out regardless of the players that he has?

" I can't imagine that a head football coach at any school would not focus on their program and coaching while they sit and wait for a class several years away to come through??? That's a recipe for not being there when that class does come through."

Exactly, what my question is regarding other schools banking on what the future holds and not focusing on what they do have on the field leading to disappointment???

  5. A lot of people on this site, say just wait til this 8 th, 9 th grade class is on varsity, just wait….waiting….. & being disappointed when their team doesn’t succeed.  All the while, NED has different philosophy….

    NEXT man up.

For years……just wait……..NED is gonna miss….  Washington, Malveaux, Hopkins, Raines, Wood, Shaw, Barrow, Stampley, Couron, Carr, Benjamin, Bellow, Sullivan, Mosely, Askew, Butler, Gentile, Yoder, Parks, Hood,  Barbay, Sonnier, Huber, Nunez, Ramoin, Boyd, Bijeaux, Brown, Cobb, Delage, Mozier, Mohica, Johnson, McPherson, Sumrall and so on…..(though these great players & others have played on the field), Neumann has been the master chess player, moving pieces strategically successfully.  It is what Neumann does with the players who you don’t hear their name that make Neumann the coach that he is.  Neumann doesn’t get as much credit for what he does year in and out with what he has.  Is Neumann overlooked as coach?

Maybe district should be saying…….just wait til Neumann retires, but you know what he would say to that, “NEXT man up!”

  7. Morse is a difference maker, for sure.  If he doesn't beat us this year, he'll get us next.  I do have nightmares about him driving PNG down the field late.  PNG is the better team but all it takes, is that one game to have it go NED way.  NED won't give it away and there will be guts and ^uts on the field after this one Friday night.  Everyone should stay for presentation in honor of Bum to show respect, if you leave this one before presentation, you're the loser!!!!!!

  8. NED might be penalized for 12 men on the field Friday night.  NED has been doing this all year, heck for many years with no flags flying???  PNG may need to know about this before MCM.  Think it would be fair to say something now.  Larry Neumann is there with his team every play, not really fair for the opponent.  There is one thing to understand:  These NED players have never known NED without Neumann.  Most of these players have grown up in NED and have only wanted to play for football for this man and his program (our recruits have bought in as well, even though we don’t have the Oregon PNG facilities and uniforms).  This is not just a team but a family with a wise daddy.

On paper, PNG is better, but in a backyard brawl like MCM, this one goes to the Dogs. Faircloth might want to call Toby Keith Foreman and ask him about Neumann singing, ‘How do you like me now?’ after the game last Friday night in the middle of the field after the game.

Might not be as high scoring as I predicted, but NED by less than a TD late.

  9. Let's hope the pick em God's aren't as predictable this week as last... I'm getting a lot of high results this last week... Highest thus far is 23.... Stay tuned may we see a 24 or a 25 this season... Who knows.... Roll them dice and let's see....

Boogity Boogity Boogity lets go picking ....

  10. Here’s a little something for game day:

    NED:

Terrible locker rooms, old equipment, Bubbled, grass field (which I kinda like), Old stadium, No “cool” alternate uniforms, No D1 players (this year), Nothing gonna impress you about this group or where they play,

    BUT:

NED will give it their all, don’t care where they play, just want to play football, play as a "team" and more than anything, want to win and keep “it” going,…..and I believe they will tonight.

  11. Dang, that's how it be? ol Nederland dont wanna talk about this matchup but want to mess with PN-G.. smh. Talk your team up, Men!

    New prediction.

    Nederland - 17

    Central - 45

Taking this prediction as a good sign, just like your other two district games predicted for NED, you may be wrong again. (Score will be close).

    Your predictions:

38-34 Ozen over NED  (NED won)

28-17 Vidor over NED  (NED won)

    My predictions for NED:

42-17 NED over Ozen  (25 pt differential predicted, actual 29 pt)

35-14 NED over Vid    (21 pt differential predicted, actual  18 pt)

Is this your final prediction for Friday night?  Just curious.
