  1. Drop by any Silsbee player's Twitter and see what the rally is for. Its all about support for the kid that is rightfully suspended for the year. Or, go back to last week when BC fans were complaining about the same kid cheap-shotting our kids (verified by AAW), and the same Silsbee fans were on the boards defending this kid's thuggish behavior... Maybe if some of the fans, coaches, or parents had stepped up and addressed this young man's behavior, he'd still be available for the playoffs. #nodevonnotigers pep rally to support the kid at the high school today at 5:30.
  2. We normally talk about the defendant's background during the punishment phase of a trial, after the defendant has been convicted of doing something EXACTLY LIKE WHAT #3 DID TUESDAY NIGHT. But keep defending him and his actions.
  3. Silsbee fan would just be right back in saying that the video doesn't show what else happened and that the BC kid deserved it.
  4. That's weird because all of the posts I see say it's in support of McCain. Or at least that's what the kids on Silsbee's team are tweeting.
  5. Right. Like our players vowing to sit out because the one kid was being punished? You gotta fight!!!!! For your right!!!!!!! To THUUUUGGGGG OUT!!!!!! #nodevonnotigers
  6. Do you remember the big rally BC had to support the team after the Twitter incident this fall? No. Because there wasn't one. Some things are just indefensible. #nodevonnotigers? This is a chance for Coach Smith and Silsbee ISD to change the widely-held PERCEPTION that Silsbee runs out of control programs where bad behaviors and actual crimes are overlooked like they have been in the past.
  7. Can somebody unlock the BC vs Silsbee thread? I'd like to offer a rebuttal to the "BC has no class" opinions posted there. I'd like to point out that most of the people complaining about his behavior grew up in an era where you and your boys jumping somebody wasn't very highly thought of. Running up and smashing somebody from behind was something to be ashamed of, not bragged about on social media. Don't hit girls was rule #1. Sadly, that's not what kids today are being taught. Tough punishment for McCain. I hope he learns from this and comes back next year with a different perspective. There are actions in life that "I'm sorry" won't fix. Some people learn that the hard way.
  8. If you knew that guy you wouldn't say that. Absolutely the biggest tiger fan there is. And white, btw.
  9. You know the old saying. If everybody you meet is a jerk, it could be that YOU are the jerk. If your team gets into confrontations week in and week out, maybe it's not because every single team you face is starting problems. And as far as my friend Badsanta goes, who "threw the first punch" is irrelevant in these games. Any kid that throws a punch or leaves the bench will be punished. That's just the rules.
  10. Wha? No Mackey?
  11. I thought he was headed to Lamar?
  12. Bridge City was short a game last year and ended up with two byes. Very possibly short again for this upcoming year.
  13. Before I opened this thread I knew it would be a "but __________ from Silsbee should be on the list/win" kind of party.
  14. Good for him!
  15. I hope they target hiring a POC. Mostly because I'd enjoy watching people LOSE THEIR MINDS!
  16. Poor Tony Brown... Giving it up on the biggest of the big stages. I'll bet Saban wishes he'd have sent him home before the championship game again this year.
  17. Yeah, but nobody is on your side when you break "Employees must wash hands before they return to work" or "Employees must have a hair net on at all times." The rest of us have jobs where the rules are a little more like guidelines than actual rules.
  18. District champs, several rounds guaranteed. Longest of long shots for a 4th Finals appearance. Too many holes to refill. I wouldn't bet against them, though.
  19. Uh huh. I feel your pain.
  20. Those boys from Washington will LOVE playing in historic Larry Ward Stadium. I'll bet they've already heard of it.
  21. Not until the second weeks. Sorry, Newton. I couldn't help myself.
  22. Better yet, give us Newton's entire enrollment and we would still be in 4A D1.... smaller than district rival LCM. We might even win district, LOL.
  23. I think it starts with coaching, and having good athletes doesn't hurt. Speaking on WOS, they feed from their pee-wee leagues into a solid junior high program, then into the high school program with good coaching every step of the way. I compare it to our group.... we had good coaching at the pee-wee leagues, then nothing much to speak of until two years ago. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Our class this year (2017) played WOS's group straight up through pee-wee... very competitive. I sat in the bleachers in the 7th/8th grade and watched an army of WOS coaches drilling their kids through warm-ups while our kids were running around and doing back-bends in the end zone. I instantly realized that our kids were getting older, WOS kids were getting better. It's coaching, hard work, and parents that support the program. This is a special, special group from WOS this year. It's important to remember that WOS has tons of experience against better teams as well. At the start of this season, we had played 21 games in the last two seasons, while WOS's group had played 32 games against much better competition. That makes a big difference. 7-on-7 helps Wos out quite a bit. I mean.... there's no point in our kids participating since all we do is run. But the experience their offense gets in the offseason, plus the extra work their secondary gets during 7 on 7 helps a lot.
