Coach Smith has been working to clean a lot of this stuff up from the program in Silsbee. That looked bad, but it wouldn't have seemed so offensive if the play had actually drawn a penalty. Hopefully somebody close to the Silsbee program will confirm if the coaching staff or admin discipline the player. I was watching the LSU/Miss State game a few hours ago and watched two Tigers get tossed out of the game for a whole lot less than #23 did to the Jasper QB.

We've only got three home games now, too.

Nah.... I still believe y'all will be one of the top seeds in the district. BC, LCM, Huffman, and Cleveland were all hit hard by the storm. It's hard to miss two weeks or so of practice (as well as two games) and be playing well. Don't quote me, but I was told that our kids went almost two full weeks without practicing in pads.... and our young squad needed all of the reps they could get.

It makes sense... i guess we'll see you guys over in the cove on Friday.

I'm surprised at the outcome. Is Newton that good, did Silsbee lay an egg, or both?

I've heard rumors that it might not be played.... any truth to that? I understand that the Cards were finally able to resume practice on this Wednesday after almost two solid weeks off. Have the Mustangs been able to practice much at all? I always pick the Cards to win.

Newton versus Silsbee..... my annual "I Hate to See Either One Win Bowl." I think it will be a close game with Silsbee coming out on top. Too many kids with too much talent IF they play disciplined football.

It was a garbage time personal foul... the play was over and Tony just lunged sideways and put a lick on the center who was standing there. The center then rag-dolled Tony with one hand. The penalties were offsetting, but then Sabah had a few words for Tony, after which seemed to be helmetlessly pleading innocence to nobody in particular.

I had to wait until the final minute of the contest, but at the last moment Tony Brown swooped in and secured his spot in Saban's doghouse with another boneheaded move. So much talent. So little poise.

I haven't heard for certain that even week 2 has been cancelled for BC, but I'm sure it will be. I still think week three in Newton is a possibility.

I was watching that game and thinking..."high school?!!!!!!" Makes all of setx look lame by comparison. Size, speed, talent, facilities...... jeez.

That's what I thought, too, but then again I don't think Neece would want to do that to his former players.

I'm curious about how this one will turn out. On paper it should be close. LCM needs a respectable showing if they expect to contend for a playoff spot.

I thought the same thing at first, but I think the Kirbyville kid is dark skinned and that's a white LEFT hand on the BC kid's throat.... knuckles facing the camera. I may have been watching too much CSI. Honestly, Dubois isn't going to say anything. He was all over our kids, and I doubt He would even recognize Dr. Wallis. I've also decided that from now on I shall capitalize all pronouns used when discussing our Coach.
