So lcm beats Png by 2 in double OT and Lumberton beats Png without their post players  by 10 Lcm vs lumberton is always a battle, Lumberton lost a special player last year and a pretty dang good guard and you expect more out of them lol when they are 5-2 which isn’t bad being so early. Huffman will be fine once they find their identity, I think LCM Vs Huffman will be a good game tonight. HF has way more depth than HJ and I could actually see Fannett running away with that title. Fannett isn’t more physical than Hj, Fannett really doesn’t have a post player and HJ has two good bullies down low, all about matchups my friend. Nederland also has made strides just in the last week by watching them play in the tourney that what happens to a veteran ball club who has 10 plus seniors.

PNG is up and down.  I was somewhat suprised that Lumberton beat PNG.  I think LCM has no problem with lumberton.  I don't totally disagree with your HF/HJ analysis but I still think they likely split.  With all of these teams and games.  If one team gets hot and eliminates turnovers, they can win.  Turn the ball over and miss shots, it is hard to win.  Overall, I stand by my above post.  I do get your point though.

  2. I watched a lot of the Nederland tournament and will give you my thoughts for what it is worth.  LCM beats Lumberton easy.  Orangefield has one kid that can get hot from the 3 and knows how to drive.  Huffman did not impress me at all.  I think HJ and HF beat Huffman with no problem. I can see HF and HJ splitting.  HJ can get hot and are hard to beat.  HF is more physical and athletic.  If the HJ point guard is not hot then I think HF wins.  As stated above, Lumberton can't compete against teams that have any talent.  I expected more from them.  I have not seen Silsbee play yet this year.  Obviously not all teams mentioned were in the Nederland tournament, but I have seen all that I have mentioned.  In regard to WOS, coach has some talented kids, but from what I hear, one of his best didn't play and the other big was limited in play time (discipline issues)

  3. I watched the game last night and it was fun.  Nederland pulled out the win despite a bunch of turnovers.   Once their offense starts clicking, they are going to be tough to beat.  I didn't have them doing this well before the season.  I hear they have some younger ballers on the team that are getting adjusted to the varsity level.  Once they get going with number 21 and jackson, they are going to be fun to watch.

  4. Congrats to Hefner on his success.  Got to say, he is the best player to ever come out of Nederland.  I have been watching the dogs for many years and he always impresses me.  He always finds a way to get to the basket and is super smooth.  I know that Weisbrod is going to play overseas and congrats to him as well.  He is a solid player and works hard.  Hefner, however, was recruited by many D1 schools and seems to be a head above the rest.  Coach English should be proud.

  5. Yes, I know who Hawk05 is!!! Only because of his past post from last year.  He was a coach from nederland.  I have met him once last year while we were both watching teams we were going to play.  Not sure if he remembers me though.  My name is Ruben for what it is worth.  I get around and have lots of friends from the mid county area.  Most are in junior division still but a few talkers from the senior teams in that area.  After rereading your post, I guess you were asking Hawk, not me.

  6. Kyndon Fuselier #8, Kadyn Gonzalez #9, Dominic Stimson #5, and Kyler Baker #34......all members of Nederland Sr Black.....are some of the best players in the entire area.......against anyone. Come watch a game. You can see for yourself.

I wonder who this dad is and what team his son plays for.  Sounds like the coast gaurd talking to me.  How about the boys from Bridge City?  show them a little love.  You must not have seen them yet.

  7. Wow what a difference one year makes. Lumberton goes from victim of Nederland and Bmt to villain of "Spirit of the Rule".  We have "inflategate" I hear.  Balls over inflated used only on kickoff so as to bounce out of control, and onside kicks when score is lopsided.  I personally don't like the way the rule is imposed so it doesn't matter to me.  Just find it funny that the team that caused coaches to get suspended last year could face the music this year for the same thing.  I am not sure if it is even the same coach as last year but I do know it is the same team.  Would be curious to hear if it is.

  8. may be a tough year for nederland gold sr. if they don't speed up their offense and stick with the basics.  suprise to me how that one turned out.  lumberton is good but still a suprise with some of the talent on that nederland team.  LCM is now my team to beat.  big and small school
