It's been 31 years since PN&G has won a State Championship! Crush that! That's a lot better than a half century! Wow, you still lost this game.
-
The main thing that kills me about the PNG fans and this game, is the ones who say that if PNG had stuck with the running game, and the refs hadn't shafted them, they graciously add 14 points to their score. Not enough to win, but 14 points anyway. Well, the deal is, why can't we give ourselves a couple wide open overthrows? There's 14 points easy. This game was close only when it was 10-7. The Bulldogs pulled away and never looked back and never gave up. I really don't care about your past history or our 63-0 loss to Dayton. You are just trying to take the sting out of this loss with posts like that.

Funny, the PNG fans I know and work with come up and shake my hand when we win and say they'll get us next year....very mature and a great group of people. Pulling up your playoff appearances and state titles shows very little class. It's what I expect from adolescents.

Children....Prince wears what he wants. I've coughed up gold (never black, that could be serious) and I've thrown up purple (after some Mad Dog if you know what I mean). So let's not attack each other's colors. Really...

It doesn't have to be a block in the back for the block to carry the defender into the punt returner.

If Ned jumps to an early big lead, Neumann will pull his starters. We take no one lightly. When you do, that's when you get upset and/or have it handed to you.
-
When PNG and Ned play, there are personal fouls. On the so-called fair catch, there was a flag, then a discussion and the flag was waived off. I thought he was blocked into the guy. It's difficult to see every play.
-
Actually, it went to 4th down and PNG punted. They never ran an offensive play in that series after the call. I lost a down there somewhere during all that. Neumann was on the field because I believe a player made the call of which penalty to accept and thus the confusion. I may be wrong. Anyway, like you said, it may have affected that series, but not the outcome of the game. Should have been PNG ball, 3rd and 20 (or whatever half the distance would have given you plus loss of down). No, they ran another play, it was pass down the sideline that almost got intercepted. My memory is terrible. That's what I remember though. I'll have to watch the game again Tuesday night. DVR it and you can watch it all year long baby! I will. I do remember asking the guy next to me why they accepted the unsportsmanlike penalty. I thought it was a double foul. We have had two penalties at once marched off against us before. So I though it should be 3rd down with the loss of down. The next thing I remember is PNG punting. I hope my wires aren't crossed, but it was a confusing circumstance.

It happened at a Nederland @ Vidor game a couple yars ago too. I thought it was great. Also, at a Nederland home game several years ago, when they asked for a moment of silence, someone said "Our Father, Who Art in Heaven"...and everyone joined in. It hasn't happened since then though. I guess everyone is afraid of the Nederland and Port Arthur police arresting 5,000+ people all at once. Not enough paddy wagons so they would have to string us together in a long line and walk us to the station about 2 blocks away. Can you imagine that? ;D Way to go Vidor and coach Matthews
-
Why? Nobody made Earl Campbell lose weight and they had to help him up after every play. ;D

Some of your PNG defenders can flat put a lick on you and Grogan, even though he is big, is not immune to getting his bell rung a bit. He's a tough kid. He'll be OK.

*POST OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK*
baddog replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yeah, both of mine are from Nederland and both on offense... Wareall Grogan...152 yards on 23 carries...2 TDs (PAN has 152) Jude Vidrine 153 yards on 6 catches...2 TDs This is purely a toss up. OMG, I just saw Bigdog's post and both games were this week, so it has to go to Grogan. -
What a way to start a week. I love it. I didn't predict a score for this game because I still had some reservations (pun intended) about our ability to stop the run. I am now convinced otherwise. PNG fans predicting a win, well that's just showing support for your team and I applaud that. However, those who predicted a 21+ point victory for PNG should just go hide because they obviously know nothing about football or this rivalry.

He's about as big too....230# I believe.

*PN-G vs. Nederland Updates/NED WINS MID COUNTY MADNESS*
baddog replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wow, what a show by the Bulldogs. One-handed catch by Vidrine for 78 a yard TD, Grogan churning up the ground game (100+ yards), what a beast. Cardenas catching the fade for a TD. Defense stopping the run and making plays when they counted. This game was not as close as the score. Bulldogs dominated from the get go. -
I usually look for areas of low pressure. Storms take the path of least resistance. A cool front or high pressure over Texas could repel it. That's the extent of my meteorology.

JASPER VS NEDERLAND SCRIMMAGE
baddog replied to GOT HEART? WE DO's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Neumann likes to play Jasper in pre-district because of their speed. It lets a team know where they are speedwise. Plus Jasper seems to be a solid squad. Lots can be learned from this game/scrimmage. I really couldn't care less who "wins". If Jasper comes out ahead, then we obviously have work to do. If we come out ahead, we still have work to do, but it means we are doing some things correctly. That's about it. -
Whats your greatest coach's quote?

I believe this is another Lombardi quote: I could coach your team and beat you. -
Troy Sumrall and Micah Mosley. Now THAT'S a backfield.

If Your Team Wins Its First Game What Is It Going To Prove
baddog replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree with WB that turnovers are a part of the game. There are too many "what ifs?" involved with the answer to your question. If my team forces their opponent to turn the ball over multiple times, and we are able to capitalize on these turnovers, then I have to wonder if the other team is any better at all. It's why the games are played. -
Who Will Have The #1 Defense In 20 4A?

cornyhusker, no whine here. Just explaining. I can't see how I got cornhusker mixed up with Nebraska. What a huge mistake. Which HS team do you follow? -
