Yates does have problems with D1 elite guards it’s written in our history. To Yates defense our transfer players were adjusting to our system. Yates have played 5A Houston Madison,#18, 6A C.E. King, O.D. Wyatt (Forth Worth) and a few cancellations and Houston Christian. Yates and Silsbee style of play are similar, both live and die with the 3’s. I believe Yates has more athletic players and a deeper bench then Silsbee this year. It appears that Silsbee also have problems with elite guards and low post players. If Silsbee isn’t hitting there 3’s, and scoring off of turn overs the outcome may not be a win (40 pts North Shore). District play for both teams will be a challenge to stay focus, but it should give the young players an opportunity to play. The road to San Antonio goes through Huntsville see y’all in March 2018

With the guard upgrade and senior players, Yates has a good change on returning to Huntsville. Every team in Region 3 will be trying to take Silsbee’s Crown. It’s not easy Winning Back 2 Back Championships

It would be nice to see a Yates vs Silsbee re-match in Huntsville

NS loses to Cy Creek by 15 today (62-47). NS is a average 6A team, I don’t expect to see them in San Antonio. Silsbee will get this team on the right track once district play begins. I don’t see anyone challenging them in district play.

The defending 4A State Champs losing to NS is upset, and only scoring 40 pts WOW. Is the coach working on his rotation are the players not focused??? I can recall a year ago this team crushing their opponents at this particular time of the year. This is not the same team (same players) that run though their non-conference games last year

The reigning UIL 4A Champs can silence everyone for now by making quick work of Central. It's time for those starters that are not playing football to carry this team. As reigning champs you have that Bulls Eye on your back and everyone will bring their A Game. Silsbee Tigers you are the King of the Jungle and everyone is out to defeat the King regardless the size of your army/team. This is an golden opportunity for the underclassmen to get game time experience before the starters return. Silsbee Tigers remember this "You have enemies??? Good, that means you have something others want".

Bayou City 713, I do remember during Yates National Championship Run and the years afterwards they played against highly ranked teams without mentioning anything about enrollment or the number of D1 players they were competing against.

It would be ashamed for a team this talented and gifted not have the opportunity to play against some of the very best and elite teams/players in the country. I am curious to see how this talented team would fair up against those elite teams off of MaxPreps List. Coach Sigler make that phone call to Hicks (RCS Sports) and let's get a game between Silsbee and the #1 La Lumiere. It's time for the entire country to witness how talented this team is and also get the national media attention.

Will Silsbee's '17 - '18 schedule include any National Ranked Tournaments (City of Palms, Fla, National Hoopfest or Iolani Classic, Hawaii) or play any National Ranked Teams (#1 LaLumiere, Montverde Academy, Findlay Prep or Oak Hill Academy). Without a doubt Silsbee is the best team in Region 3 and should re-peat in 4A. I would love to see Silsbee go outside the state and play a completive schedule.
