Most teams won't really be playing to win. You will see a lot of 5 in 5 out rotations with equal playing time. Good warm up tourney though!

I assume we will find out Sept 14th in their fall league....

8 players in the rotation is the sweet spot for me....but the right 8 players. Seven can hurt you if you get into foul trouble and 10 gives you too many options.

No the news Dove speaks of is new news. This kid isn't a shooter...but he can tip toe and dunk lol.

Ya gotta do what your competition is doing or trying to Well you actually have to recruit. Like Txhoops said, we wouldn't have any students at all if we didn't. Being a private school, no one is guaranteed to go there. Even kids from St.. Anne, St. Anthony and All Saints often go to West Brook after middle school. With the current state of the BISD, my cell phone is blowing up every week. Trick is geting them in.

There were a few kids that weren't in the 2nd period basketball class today, so I haven't had a chance to see everyone yet. But Drew Rawls from St. Anthony is another freshman that can ball!

St. Anthony, but his dad coaches at Central. He almost went there. We also got another Port Arthur freshman Christopher May.

Today was the first day of school at Kelly. We have 4 returning Varsity starters...three Juniors (6'2 Cannon Broussard - Nederland) 5'10 John Kraemer - Beaumont and 5'11 Tevin Baker - Port Arthur) and one Sophomore (6'2 Jomard Valsin - Port Arthur). Add to that returning Sophomore (5'11 Jakobee Dill) who was our 6th man last year. We added a Junior that transferred from Central (6'3 Dareiyus Richard). Freshman 6'3 Kevin Dotson (Nabbed from Central) may get some Varsity time this year and should really help us. I might add, 6 of those 7 players played in our Defenders organization

Devon McCain at Silsbee is going to be something special.

​Yea I think he may end up being better than his big brother by the time he graduates. Higher skill set. Just not as big...yet

I meant most of the Silsbee 1 team also plays for our Defenders - Brady team.

And Defenders - Brooks is our 16U developmental team. No varsity players on the roster. Silsbee A is mostly our Defenders - Brady team. They are all friends so I'm sure Silsbee took it easy this morning

No. Not enough teams participating.

But there will be at least one AAU team in it. Defenders - Brooks 16U

​LOL. Only difference was that HJ knew they weren't playing the 17U Elite Team out of Houston. HJ didn't really play to win and my team, Defenders Kraemer, was short 3 players for that game. So, it played more like a Summer League game which was good because everyone got in some good work.
