I was there. It was a good game, but Miguez was off from the outside. I think he was 0-6 in the first half from 3's...unlike him. The tech in my opinion wasn't a game changer. It was a game of runs. So if you point to the tech as the reason the game was close, you could easily also point to the fact that if Miguez was on, it would have been an entirely different game as well. The key was that Nederland didn't let Ozen get out and run. That slowed the game down and when that happens to a team like Ozen, who likes to run, it's anyones game. Ozen hit free throws in the fourth quarter and Nederland didn't. Question is, will Nederland be ranked this week after giving a top 10 team fits on the road?

If that's true, there is a HUGE difference between walking in on a burglar and walking in on a guy having relations with your sister. I mean really? Depends on the organization and coach. But overall, yes Kobe IS correct. But playing AAU ball, even for a coach that doesn't teach you anything, is better than sitting at home all summer playing video games or getting into trouble. It's the lessor of two evils.

I talked to Lucas before and after our game with Vidor before the holidays. He told me he wasnt sure if it was a tear or not and that he would be ready by the district opener. I told him to take it slow and be sure before he plays. His competitiveness may have gotten the better of him. And he is one heck of a competitor. Really sad for him.

It was after a Kelly made basket with 1.3 seconds left that cut the score to 39-37. Now we would have had to force a 5 second count or turnover and then score again...which would have been highly unlikely. One ref said 1.3 seconds and another waived it off and called the game. Congrats to Memorial. They made the plays when it counted and we didnt.
