Summer Creek @ Barbers Hill 2/6 @ 3 pm
-
It's time! Barbers Hill will be solid again this season. Look forward to the season and post season. Maybe with a little luck, we can make a run at Round Rock. Good luck to all of the players out there!
-
They disappointed me last year. Really thought they would make some noise. They are loaded with talent on varsity.
-
Crosby and PNG not getting any love. They will be tough outs this year. BH returns quite a bit, but pitching depth will be a question mark.
-
PNG field looks like it's 4 or 5 weeks away also. Not sure though
-
Crosby is on there as well. 21-5a will be strong this year. PNG isn't listed, but should be on there.
-
21-5a has been doing it for a while. I think it makes it more exciting. Example. When Ned and PNG play, the teams will see the ace one game and the other game different pitchers. Pitching depth comes into play. Just imo

Cy Ridge and College Park were good. HJ had tough games in this tourney. -
We have to send money to the state under Robin Hood. Some tax rich districts are better with managing money.

I remember my son playing this age group in youth football. It was loaded with talent and some epic youth battles. I believe WOS for sure wins district and wouldn't surprise me if they get to the finals for the fourth year in a row.

The Barbers Hill facility is used by multiple sports including baseball. It has hitting cages that come down from ceiling, infield practice. Also, elementary kids used it for last Easter when it rained. They were able to hide eggs. It's used for multitude of activities. Atleast for us, it's not all about football. Heck, they've had a blowup tv for movies in there. Lol

My son worked out with a kid that just moved in today. Sounds like a pretty good athlete and we were one and done. Lol I agree with you though. Historically good programs would probably be my pick, but with the new generation, that might be changing.

IfI remember right, didn't the LT QB show his butt last year towards end of the game when they lost? Or am I thinking of another player? -

Seriously, if you need the baseball fix and chomping for recruiting information or baseball knowledge from a wide range of baseball guys, go to hsbaseballweb.com. I've found some good info there.

I hope no WOS fan takes this wrong, but at the 5a and 6a level, Houston area has some really good football teams every year and appears there's new schools popping up every year at these levels. Beaumont area has to play those schools first couple of rounds and IMO is the reason for the quick exit from playoffs. WOS in the playoffs usually has a lot easier matchups until 4 or 5 rounds. With that being said, WOS could hang or beat most 5a schools in the area.
-
My theory is the kids that played in the 80's and 90's stayed in the community as well as extended family and they continue to reproduce really good football genes in Orange. My theory is also that WOS has a lot more really good athletes than the majority of 4a schools. It just so happens their population shrunk, but kept the same amount of good athletes. That along with some good coaching and champion mindset. That's my attempt at WOS formula. lol

Reagan, this years teams from 21-5a and 22-5a were quality teams. Some won come playoff time and others didn't. There is quality players and coaches in these districts. Unfortunately, 5a and 6a in our area have struggled to get deep in the playoffs. The area still turns out good college players. I found that as the years go on, there's an abundance of really good teams you have to face in the playoffs. Some area's get two rounds of nobody's to play in the playoffs. This area has drawn the short straw for a while where you're playing some of better teams in 2nd round.
