Baseball sign ups are here for Nederland Babe Ruth League. To sign up you simply go to Nederland Babe Ruth League and click on registration on your computer. You will have to create a SI Play acct for free to register. Follow the instructions and your done. Nederland Babe Ruth is coming off a successful season with a World Series appearance by the 14yrold division. NBR is open to all 13-15 year olds that live in Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Chambers Counties. NBR is a perfect place for Select/travel ball players that wants to get some more work in on a 60/90 field. All coaches work well with players and parents of pitchers to watch pitch counts for Select/travel players. All games will be played during week except opening day. All coaches are flexible with select/travel players. So come out and play some competitive baseball with kids from the surrounding area. Have any questions feel free to call. 409-720-9711

I must say and dont get this wrong I love hometown sports and wish the best for our local athletes. That being said just because a University or College is in a small/local area that school does not have to play or recruit local athletes. Obviously Lamar thinks a player that got recruited at Tennessee and transferred for whatever reason will either 1. Push the "LOCAL" athletes to a potential that they see fit or 2. That transfer is a better talent. It's simple. It's a business for the coaches as well. They have to win, produce results or someone else will.
