  1. We had a down year in ‘18, missed the playoffs for the only time in the last 17 years. Went .500 in ‘19. Long as we’re healthy and stay out of financial trouble this the “un-down year” times. Doesn’t matter if we get moved up, Manvel and Cedar Park would be the only perennial powers left in the region to compete with.
  2. Hopefully we don’t have to make you wait longer than December 18th
  3. You’re welcome. We did keep it classy. Ned’s whole team stood on their logo and didn’t move for the team handshake after the game. We were going to dance on it but decided not to. Instead we just jumped around with the trophy on side of y’all while Barrow tried to explain to the team why they finished 6th.
  4. I think Dunn being hurt was a big part big go look at some of those drops we had at the beginning of the game. We felt like Chris Marshall was handling us because we weren’t scoring. It was 14-9 at the end of the 3rd quarter when he got ejected, we probably should’ve had 23 points at that time. When Marshall got ejected and they started going to #3 their offense got harder to stop. Marshall can get his but I don’t think Banks is good enough to beat us from the pocket. He’s Jamar Sanders with more speed but a worse arm. If we can manage those three interior o-linemen and not let Banks run wild then we should be good.
  5. Good job, y’all didn’t get blown out. Crosby’s poor offensive execution at the beginning of the game and Ned playing not to get blown out allowed your fans to be ecstatic for a half. Crosby came out, scored 21 straight and the game was over. Crosby wins at Barbers Hill, at PNG and at Nederland while blowing the doors off everybody we play in The Jungle. We beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams by a combined 70. Congrats on Ned’s 6th place squad playing with a bunch of heart and keeping it interesting for a while their last time in Bulldog Stadium. At least you’re not mistaking it for being average like you did last year.
  6. I agree our defense was a beast against what they did last year, but we were more size than speed in the front seven. This year it’s flipped and I think that’s a good thing for FBM’s qb run-first offense. I was rewatching the playoff run the other night and noticed we didn’t have a very good day offensively against FBM execution wise. I think this offense is set up a lot better to move the ball against them which is a matchup plus, last year we played the whole first half of the game on our side of the field.
  7. Man, definitely wanted to avoid this one. PAM could’ve beaten Angleton in a tough defensive game because they’re offense isn’t that good. FBH can play defense AND score though. Turnovers and penalties can always play a role in outcomes but just playing straight up, FBH is a more complete football team than PAM is. I would probably have it FBH -13.5, that’s a rough loss to Friendswood.
  8. He said the same thing last year. Actually he said we would lose in the second round. Then every round after that. We he’s failing to resize is that we match up a lot better this year with FBM than we did last year.
  9. This is the 5th time since 2014 that Crosby has come into the last game of district play undefeated. This makes the 4th time we failed to bring the A-game to close the show. Fortunately Crosby is good enough this year that our B-game can beat most. Made us out healthy so that’s the biggest victory of the night. Great job tonight by Nederland’s 22 seniors, I believe? I say it all the time, more than any team Crosby plays on a regular basis Nederland is the team that gives Crosby the most fits. They did so tonight and I honestly didn’t expect anything less. I’m actually glad they made Crosby take it off cruise control.
  10. Plus I already see eight opt-ups to 5A-D1 which should push it even higher than it would go naturally. Looks like we're in prime stalking position for the next couple of years.
  11. Picture of Ned team dinner this morning:
  12. PAM is going to get Angleton in the first round. Last couple times Crosby played Angleton it was 38-15 and 34-0, one of those years they went to the regional final. The way we did Angleton earlier this year in a scrimmage is the main reason I thought Crosby would be as good as we are right now. Manvel just beat Paetow and is probably the best team is that district. We lost to them by 14 at Iowa Colony this year. We kicked the ball into the back of our own lineman and gave up a cheap TD when we were about to go into the half with a lead, then we miss three WIDE open tds in the passing game. We weren’t playing at near the level we are now. Really doesn’t matter now though with Paetow and Hightower going 6A.
  13. Probably so. I'd imagine Coach P and Coach Hurts are trying to work out a deal where we could send some kids over to our neighbors in Channelview and recount to make sure we stay D2. I heard Deer Park and La Porte are doing the same thing which is why they haven't turned in a number either.
  14. Their neighbors just to the south in Plano should turn in an enrollment around 17,000 for a three high school district. Allen's neighbors to the west just opened their 12th 5A high school in a town with the land area the size of Crosby's attendance zone. Only thing comparable to the growth in north Dallas around the state are the Kay and Cy-Fair districts.
  15. Yes, they do remember. Look for Crosby to try to win this one by 40+ and don't be surprised if the favor is returned after the game.
  16. Y'all can probably get Friendswood by 30 but IDK about 20 on Angleton, especially coming off playing Paetow which is an excellent prep game for PAM. I would say the offensive edge goes to PA, the defensive edge goes to Angleton and the athleticism is a push. Angleton is probably more athletic than Hightower but just can't get consistent qb play. I think you're looking at a 20-24 type game that could go either way depending on a turnover or penalty, I don't think it'll be a blowout.
  17. We were actually planning to come do some pre-game drinking at Texas Roadhouse instead of on I-10 this time. Putting Fuselier at RB does make it easier to get him the ball but I also think with Ned's offensive line play this year that it makes him easier to stop. Probably an odd statement since part of the reason Ned beat us last year was due to them being able to effect the pace of the game with Mazyck. Ned never has a "great" offense but they've always seemed to be able to manufacture points in the past but that's just not the case this year.
  18. I doubt it. Those Marshall fans are pretty sensible. One of their fans wasn’t sure they wouldn’t struggle with Hallsville last week and when I asked that MavsChamp guy earlier in the year about their strength of their district he said TH was the only team he expected to make it out of the first round. I’m sure he would dead any banter by pointing out how they’ve played this year.
  19. Lots of talk at the beginning of the season, from people not in the know, about Crosby not being as good as last year. Last year Crosby's average margin of victory in district play was 29.8ppg, this year it currently sits at 36.5ppg. Crosby will head to Nederland looking to cross the 400 point mark for the first time in a seven game district season. For reference, Crosby only scored 282 points in district play last year but did only give up a sick 10.3ppg on defense during that span. IMO we're a year ahead of where we were supposed to be due to the excellent job Crosby's staff has done with the talent they've been given. If Coach P can keep those guys together for the most part they're liable to build a juggernaut over the next 4-5 years with the high-level talent Crosby has coming through the program.
  20. Their rushing attack is legit in HISD but they run a spread and their qb only has 365 passing yards on the year with a 1/1 TD-INT ratio. If you're not at least a threat to throw it in that style offense then Crosby is going to tee off on that run game. I doubt Madison scores while the starters are in and wouldn't at all be surprised if we did them like we did FB Willowridge in the first round last year.
  21. LMAO, says the guy who literally hangs on every word I post. Y'all are 5-4 and a non-factor as usual, I promise you nobody is thinking about BH. That's why we're posting playoff threads talking about Madison, Marshall and FBM.
  22. Yeah, spent way too much effort tryin to explain why we played down to BH that night. Looking at how there's a good chance BH will finish .500 or below, I don't think you can describe it as anything other than that. BH might finish the season without beating on playoff team outside of an HISD school.
  23. I don't think Marshall's offense is very good so there's a chance we get Rudder in the second round. Would much rather to play Rudder since the game would probably be in Cypress versus a Marshall game probably all the way in Nac again.
  24. Lol, Crosby had 16 first time starters. Eight on each side of the ball. Thank you so much for posting these stats and proving my point to the other Carthage guy. Carthage wins with defense. I don’t care who you had out, same way you feel about you guys is the same way I feel about Myles limping around for a whole half and having to play a backup, who’s not even the backup now, at times. Ask PA Memorial and Barbers Hill what it’s like like to face him in the second half while he’s upright? You don’t feel like it would’ve been close and neither do I, and we were the ones who were actually up 17-0. I’m not going to reply to the Carthage people again because it’s a never ending saga, I know that game nearly three months ago now is still the high point is y’all’s season.
  25. Yeah, I guess for everything except the slot-t? Y’all keep middle school records out there? Prieto’s son plays qb for one of our middle school teams and we were smashing people 64-0 with running clocks but I bet if UT offers him $300k he’s gone? Couldn’t tel you the first thing about s record either. Maybe Surratt is a different type guy and prefers his kid to play against a lower level of competition than what he could have while he was living on the water in Lake Travis? If Surratt stays until his son is gone he’ll be almost 60. Bye the way, it’s a lot easier to “adjust” when you have the most talent in the class. Ask Tom Westerberg.
