Lol, the typical Vidor rebuttal lacking content or a reference in which an encyclopedia is needed.

They're better than the King team last year, this year's Central team probably isn't as good as either of the previous two though.
-
I think both teams are going to hit some big plays in the passing game. I think the team that wins this one is the team the runs the ball the most effectively. Even though Crosby's overall offensive line play has been sketchy at times we've gotten excellent movement in the run game lately. Crosby is used to playing these games, New Caney is the new kid on the block. I think Code Red goes up 1485 and puts it away in no doubt fashion. Crosby 45 New Caney 28

They would most likely lose by a wide margin to New Caney in the first round.
-
They all realize you're going to get blown out for the third time this year. It's also going to be a great film game for Crosby, along with the benefit of PAM beating you guys up the week before you play us. I think PAM gets up big, then shuts it down to go into the playoffs healthy.
-
If New Caney wins this game they win the outright district championship for the first time in a couple of decades. If Crosby wins this game they win at least a share of the district championship for the third straight year. If Barbers Hill knocks off Porter in the season finale I would consider this game for the district crown straight up, it would go down in the annals as a "Co-district championship" in that case though. I see it as starting the playoffs a week early, especially Crosby who's going back to the place they lost to Porter. This game doesn't change either team's #1 seeding but it will be a big boost going into the playoffs.

It's win and you're in for Ned next week. Based on my math though, as long as Livingston beats Ozen to end the season and cause a three way tie between Livingston, Ned and Central, Central has the best chance at getting in next week. Basically PNG beats Ned and Livingston beats Ozen, Central will walk into the playoffs with a win over Baytown Lee. I'm expecting either PNG to beat Ned or PAM to beat Vidor next week so the only thing to decide in 22-5A is the D1 #2 seed. I would say go ahead and get the film ready as far as D2. Wow, so much hope for Splendora after beating Dayton. Believe they've lost six straight district games now. Hard for a team with that enrollment not to wear down over the course of the season. Not a bad looking football team on the hoof though, their game against NC the commentators were talking about how their kids all of a sudden grew when they got to 5A.

Seems like aporter did a good job on containing Cooper in the run game, 22 carries for 52 yards of which some were obviously pass attempts he pulled down. Looks like it was 13-7 half way through the 4th quarter. My opinion is that whoever's defense has the least lapses wins the game next week.

Very pleased with what I saw overall from Crosby, defense played extremely well. Taylor Perry had over 100 int. return yards and Alec Lewis basically dominated from the rover position. Humble isn't a great passing team but what attempts they did have we covered, especially #17 Palmer who had three deep pass break-ups in 1 v 1 situations and a game-stopping hit on another pass break-up. Humble probably had less than 40 total yards when the starters were pulled to start the 4th quarter. For about five games in a row the offensive line has gotten movement, they were borderline dominant tonight and Grace looked the best I've seen him all year. We were sloppy at times, twice inside the 5 yardline with no points plus a turnover. Also had a punt return TD called back on a block in the back behind the play. Starting qb got banged up and sophomore backup came in and went 3 for 3 on TD drives to end the third quarter and start the fourth. Three of the four starting receivers are playing at an all-district level right now. Before Crosby fans comment on who should play where just understand for all our issues we're averaging over 41ppg in district play. The defense was supposed to lead this team anyway. Now the focus turns to beating New Caney and winning at least a share of the district championship for the third straight year.

Best thing that could happen for our district is for Porter to beat New Caney tonight. That way New Caney gets PAM and a chance for a sweep.
-
For the first time in a long time I think three of the four bi-district games between 21-5A and 22-5-5A will be harder than the second round games where you play the Fort Bend vs HISD winners. The winner of the game between 21-5A D1 #1 seed vs 22-5A D1 #2 seed will get Manvel.
-
Rouse is probably going to beat Elgin, an Rlgin win would lock CP into D2 as long as Hutto won out. The realistic scenario to lock CP into D2 is just for Georgetown to beat Connally at the end on the season
-
Central needs to win by as much as the can to max out their tie breaker points, not sure if it's 17 or 21. Realistically for Livingston this is probably a "win and you're in" type situation.
-
Not if Porter loses their last two and Crosby beats New Caney. Crosby and NC would both end up with only one districtloss and Crosby would have the head to head. I never considered us district champs when we lost to CE King.
-
That's perfectly fine with me. Every time people point out what round we lose in or not having a title I will continue to bring up the round you didn't even qualify for.

Jacob Hall has been starting at a 5A school that's about to have 2,000 kids since he was a freshman, he could ball coming out of 8th grade. If we're being honest about a system I would look to JD as prime example of being a beneficiary, great defense that always gets you the ball in good position and gets to throw to open receiver because his athletes are so much better than the other teams at that level. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.
-
Guy said celebrate Crosby wins so I pointed out how many we have, but every time one of you brings up a game from half a decade ago with different players and coaches and point to it as what you can do I'm going to point out what you have done. It is what it is.

Houston Chronicle has Vidor down for 308 yards on 69 plays, maybe the Vidor Times has different stats. Lol, that gimmick offense also made that your only bi-district win in 54 years. Vidor also wasn't blown out multiple times like they have been this year and will be again against PAM. I celebrate Crosby's success all the time, then people from Vidor, PNG, Ned, etc. say I shouldn't because we don't have a state championship. Crosby is coming up on their 50th win since we played Vidor, the only losses that eat at me are the ones to Elgin and Cedar Park when I felt we had chances to play for a state title.
-
We're talking 5A man, please don't put WOS anywhere in this. I highly doubt they could even beat La Vega or Argyle right now. Even though they won a state championship they were beat down by 28 to a team that wasn't even ranked in the top 10 and lost in the third round. Porter's qb, rb and top receiver are all better than what WOS has at those positions plus they're overall bigger and deeper. WOS might be able to change the game making defensive plays but they're not in the same hemisphere as squads like Manvel, Foster, Ryan, Cedar Park, etc. Lot different playing schools who have athletes the caliber of WOS and four times more of them to choose from.
-
Lol, I thought this was a sarcasm thread at first. No, not even close. They needed overtime to beat a Crosby team that was down several starters and that's the only squad they've beaten with a winning record. They'll most likely lose this week to NC and probably go into the playoffs with a loss to BH. People have given them credit, it's just that nobody is fooled. Teams like Ryan, College Station, Cedar Park, Manvel, Foster, etc. would beat Porter by at least 28 points on a normal night.

I'm sure there are some co-eds in Oxford that were able to soothe his pain afterwards. When he goes to the NFL he'll realize trying to make tackles like those are bad business decisions and just push him out of bounds.
