  1. The only kind of team that can beat Memorial is one with a big senior heavy o line and a mis-direction style running offense. And a defense that is VERY good at stopping the run. Vidor was perfectly suited to give Memorial trouble. But there are not many Vidor type teams at the 5A level. If Memorial stays focused, they are gonna make a deep run. Good luck Titans!
  2. I believe it was Vince Lombardi who said: "Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man. Sooner or later, the man who wins is the man who thinks he can." On paper, Memorial was bigger, faster and stronger. They are a VERY good team with a ton of talent! If this game is played 10 times, Memorial might win the next 9. But to Coach Matthews credit and his coaching staff, he has his players believing they can beat any team on any given night. And that's what it is all about. Hopefully, the PA kids bounce back from this and put it on NC Porter next week. Memorial fans, don't be too hard on your coach. He is a good man who has the best interest of the kids in mind. It looks like he is doing a good job of helping raise some good young men who will be productive members of society and that's what's most important. And he has got them playing some damn good football too. Take the loss, learn from it and move on. But don't blame it on the coach. The kids see and hear that mess and that only hurts them. Good luck next week.
  3. That was a strange quote but I never read too much into post game interviews with emotions running high.
  4. The stat of the night was what Vidor's defense did against a super, electric RB: Elijah Hines15 rushes 57yds 3.8ypc WOW! That was not part of my prediction. Very impressive!
  5. If I'm not mistaken, he is committed to Louisiana-Lafayette. The Ragin Cajuns
  6. I know. I was just saying Vidor had them stopped for a loss without the facemask. It was a gift from Vidor not the refs. But definitely the right call.
  7. Good point. This will hopefully refocus Memorial to make a strong run in the playoffs. Good luck to all of our district teams next week.
  8. PAM stopped on 4th down with couple minutes left. PAM has no time outs. That's ballgame folks. The mighty Philistine is being carried off of the battlefield as we speak.
  9. Vidor needs a couple first downs to hold on. Momentum has definitely shifted.
  10. Goliath has struggled back to his feet. David had a chance to put his foot on the throat and didn't do it.
  11. About a 70 yd run by Humble. Caught by Vincent but I didn't think anyone was supposed to run that far on the PAM secondary???
  12. But seriously, PAM shouldn't have even had the ball. Vidor stopped them on 4th down and the refs bailed PAM out.
  13. Still lot of game left but you have to like Vidor's chances with a clock burning offense and a 3 TD lead.
  14. Hines fumbled one inside the 1 on Lumberton too. I see a pattern. Or maybe it was the same refs in that game.
  15. Found a picture of Memorial when Vidor scored that 3rd TD.
  16. I'm not sure, let me look at the scoreboard. Nope, Memorial still has ZERO! Ha!
  17. Well just don't wait around too long to get serious. Vidor would like a competitive game heading into the playoffs. Lol
  18. Uh oh! David connects with another stone to the forehead of Mighty Goliath! Goliath is down on one knee!
  19. Exactly how long is a "bit"? Certainly more than 30 minutes. ;-) Keep slinging those stones David! You have Goliath looking woozy!
  20. Who was the heavy favorite when Douglas beat Tyson? We all knew how that was going to end up, didn't we?
  21. Is this game still being played? I figured Vidor would have called it off due to the intimidation factor that PAM brings to the table. 4 yards at a time Vidor and get at least one turnover. You got this.
