1.   We would like to invite you to this year's 2nd Annual Southeast Texas Senior Showcase game to be held on May 17th at the Lamar University Soccer Complex. We are excited to announce that this year there will be a women's and a men's game. Coach Hardman and Coach Swift at Lamar have been very helpful in accomodating us and allowing us the use of their wonderful facilities for this contest. The games will take place at 5 and 7. This is an exciting way to honor our seniors and give them a memorable exit to high school soccer here in Southeast Texas. The teams will be divided up by the district alignment. The NORTH team will be made up of Lumberton, Livingston, Liberty, HJ, Silsbee, Jasper and will also include Kelly and Westbrook. The SOUTH team will include players from Nederland, PNG, LCM, Vidor, Central, Ozen, Bridge City, HF and will feature players from Pt Arthur Memorial. Rosters will be released next week. Ticket prices are $4 adult and $2 for students with a valid school ID.

3. he will be a good one in the future to look out for.
4. Lumberton only allowed 8 goal in district play this year. Sadly 5 of them were given up in the first game of district vs Livingston. I would like to add this was without Justin Lyons playing at 100% coming off his hamstring injury. Since Justin returned to the starting lineup, we only gave up 3 goals (1 PK) with him in the back. We finished the year with 7 shutouts in district play with Justin and also were able to shut out Vidor in the 1st Round of the playoffs (Not an easy task). 8 of our last 10 games were shutouts. Our GK Dylan Hunley finished the year with 10  shutouts (7 in district) including a shut out in the playoffs. Outside of the 1st game of District --he played amazing in the goal for a 1st year keeper. He was easily one of the best in our district Team                  Goals scored            Goals allowed Lumberton                50                        8  Livingston                36                        10 Liberty                    23                        15
5. I am going with the Lady Indians based on them being local... ;). Coach Bates has done an amazing job over there and I expect her to have her girls ready. I am saying 2-0 Lady Indians.
6. Central will be tough. They beat Nederland twice this year. If they show up and play a little more defense than they did against Livingston it could get a little hairy.

8. Yes Nederland absolutely embarrassed (5-0  :'() us at the PNG Tournament. However tournaments happen very early in the year and the beautiful thing about those games are the video from that game and other games help us to learn from our mistakes and get better.  We watched that film and went on to beat LCM the very next game 4-1. Early games are a time when your team chemistry is still meshing and we were not yet comfortable with our new formation. Our GK made 2 bad mistakes early that resulted in a quick 2-0 lead. Then they got a PK and then scored 2 more quick goals. If you get behind a good team like Nederland early it is very difficult to overcome that. Surely though in your district , you know that previous scores mean absolutley nothing. How many people counted Vidor out after the first round of district play?  I would be willing to bet most people did. I will tell you who did NOT... myself and Matt Wedel! Teams do get better and sometimes teams stay the same. I honestly feel we have improved since our contest with Nederland/Vidor. Is it it enough to top Vidor? I hope so. I know that they are probably the scappiest team we have played all year. It is going to be a very tough / entertaining game. If we lose, we lose to a very good team and there is no shame in that. If we win, then we have beaten one of the best and hottest teams in SETX imo. Go Raiders  ;D
9. FYI Lumberton tied PNG earlier this year (although it was scrimmage) and beat LCM 4-1. We did lose to Vidor in a scrimmage and tournament as well as Nederland. I wouldnt say that is terrible imbalanced. Not arguing that District 38 is not tougher but just stating the facts. I hope Islander that you are wrong.
10. Long time no see BonMot! How did you guys turn out this season? Obviously the player from Livingston is just sour that we beat them and Jordan has scored more goals than him.
11. Lumberton vs Vidor Thursday Night Lamar Stadium Lumberton girls vs Vidor girls  5pm Lumberton boys vs Vidor boys 7pm
12. Lum 5 Jasper 0 Lumberton clinches a share of the district champioship for the 5th year in a row.! Grats men! Lumberton lost a hearttbreaker with 51 seconds to go in the 1st district game 5-4 to Livingston and then went on to outscore their district opponents 46-3 (including a 3-1 win over Livingston) in the final 9 games to clinch the #1 seed in the playoffs. Lumberton and Livingston will share the title this year but Lumberton will be the #1 seed from district 37-4A because they  are +1 goal on Livingston.
13. Thanks for clearing that up. Still a very fine job by our girls. Congratulations again.
