Aledo's Ryan Newsome is the wr Charlie is after. More stars than Coutee. Aggies told us the more stars the better. Thus, Coutee was no longer being "pursued." Newsome will be a Longhorn.
I know it's a little late but from Monday:

Too bad Tic didn't get hired a little earlier. Might have been able to keep some more homegrown talent at home.
A) he wasn't part of the Florida 5 (Irvin, Clarington, Cherry, Johnson & Davis)
B ) you were told all 5 would be eligible after you asked (due to your "hot sources" on texags). Much like Mack (and soon to be Murray), I don't presume any kid is air tight until they've signed...
C) try and keep up
This has been expected. Uncertainty at QB and position coach got axed. He will end up at auburn unless he really likes the new WR coach or we get a big name transfer at QB. We should still get 4-star receiver Ryan Newsome of Aledo and maybe another. Pretty happy we are sitting on a top 10 class that will almost definitely end up higher by signing day with additional commits. Strong's made up a lot of ground in the last month.
I really thought with everyone back and adding Turner, we would be an elite 8 type team this year. Elite 8 teams don't get beat by 21 by a rival, especially at home. Barnes needs to get this fixed around quick or the Shaka chirping will be started again in Austin.
I would have said 6-7 wins for the aggies (not counting bowl game) a few weeks ago. I think the chavis hire may be at least worth a win or two. I would think a minimum of 7 wins max of 9.
I don't know why you would assume the arkansas game would be easier for the Ags next year. Some will be picking them to win the west. Not saying A&M can't win the game but I don't think it will be a picnic. Then again, they just kicked the crap out of us so maybe I'm still shell shocked ;)
I don't think I was implying anything. I was stating that Aggy demanded the same money Texas was making from Nike. They were told by perhaps the greatest apparel company in history (certainly from a marketing standpoint) that they weren't.
