I guess you would call it a "pass." He let it be known (through his agent of course) if he was offered (without interviewing, etc.), he would come. This was Patterson's show and he refused to take that route. I had this confirmed by a pretty prominent Baylor alum who is very involved with the program. Same guy initially told me (right after Mack "retired") there was no way Briles would leave for Texas.
Whaaa? Whose uniforms did the Aggies infiltrate in the 2010 Big 12 Championship game - OU's (the '10 Champion) or Nebraska's? Or is this like one of those 2 "National Championships" the Ags suddenly found the summer they joined the SEC from the 1910s?
One word: Waco
It is a not so well kept secret Briles would have left if offered the job without interviewing. i have had this confirmed by some prominent Baylor alums. That being said, Scott Drew wouldn't be near the top of my list. He has had a lot of off the court issues in his program that would keep him from getting the Texas job anyway.
Barring a miracle, Barnes is gone. The name I am hearing, and have been hearing for the past few years, is Shaka Smart. That's more the popular choice though and this AD has already shown he will hire who he wants. He is a basketball guy though so I suspect it will be a decent hire.
Pretty solid. Shouldn't have let your Duke hatred keep you from going 100% ;)
Kansas has an outside shot at one too. If Nova drops another and they win out. They have a lot more chance of losing another though in the Big 12 tourney
Settling in for the end of an era (hopefully). Bill Self has more conference titles than home losses?? Wow! Barnes is 7-35 vs ranked Big 12 teams on the road.
As long as 1939???
I love how Ags love to arbitrarily use the history argument. "That was 10 years ago!". But - "we WERE really good 3 years ago!" is fine.
One thing is certain, my school age kids experienced a Longhorn NC. None of us were alive when aggy won its only hardware.

Must be sad to have this as your brag on a banner season - but, but we were third in our division of our conference!
As for top 5 finish, we spent a decade in the top 5 ;)
