Port Arthur Memorial 42 Nederland 12/FINAL
TxHoops replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Bulldogs have calmed down and played much better this quarter. Snowball got away from them in the 1st, A nice fade throw and one helluva catch in the corner of the end zone by Burnett. 28-12 PAM conversion pending TO Ned -

Big Ned QBs account for 2 TDs so far. Both to Kary Vincent. PAM 28 Ned 0 1:32 1st. And it's gotten ugly pretty quickly. -
Going to catch this one tonight. Nederland will give it their best shot. But it still could get really ugly, really fast.

No kidding. If you don't believe he has FS1 and LHN on his channel favorites, you haven't been on this board much. I would bet a fortune he's spent 100 x the time I've spent watching SEC network, although it's much greater than that even... As for that terrible Tech team, I know aggy is happy they don't get that yearly beating anymore...

Would have loved to have made this trip to see the Mustangs against their toughest regular season test (we will see how tough it ends up being though) and to see the Browning kid up close. Rivals has him as the #4 overall kid in the country. I guess I will have to wait and wait and watch him next year in burnt orange... Good luck Mustangs!

It is probably safe to assume no presidential candidate has ever been so patently wrong on so many occasions. I'm not sure whether to call them lies, although technically they are. But I think as often as not, he is so thoroughly unprepared on any given topic that he just starts making things up. You know, like we all did when we were 4... [Hidden Content]

I thought Kentucky's basketball dorm was nice. Advantage Jayhawks (and by advantage, I mean not even close): [Hidden Content]

BS Wildcats and I had a similar conversation yesterday. It's a shame the folks we have "representing" us can't have meaningful, civilized conversations like you and I have regularly and the same with BS Wildcats. Our conversation was how sad it is that the dialogue has broken down to the point it has. I think with us, it stems from mutual respect. I like hearing other view points and genuinely enjoy our conversations. There was a day and age when that was true in Washington, Austin, or wherever. Those days appear to be long gone though. If so, and we don't do something to right the ship, I fear we are in deep, deep trouble. And if either side thinks it's just the other side creating or continuing the problem, I could point you to something my grandma would say about finger pointing... In short, there is no shortage of blame on either side...

No question Holt was tougher (if you can call it "tough") with Trump. And you're right, it was to be expected.

The debate polls are all over the place. The one I found most interesting is Hillary's odds went from -170 to -225 immediately following the debate. And most numbers I have seen show her with a decisive advantage among "undecided" voters on the debate. I never know how much stock to put in those, however, because how do you know for sure they are actually undecided?

Absolutely. Will be a good test to see how they handle a team with a legit big and this will be one of the rare games where probably the best guard on the floor probably isn't a Tiger. Mamba isn't exaggerating with Davis. Saw him go blow for blow with one of the top senior guards in the State and he took over several games in the 6A playoffs last summer. Decided to commit early to Jamie Dixon and TCU. Plus it will be fun to watch the verbal sparring because he likes to talk as much or more as some of the Silsbee players. But I agree with you I think this one will be close. Silsbee just has that chemistry that puts them right there with almost any team. And win or lose, if Silsbee is right there with Sam Houston, that's pretty big IMO. Really wish I could see this one. As far as fall tournament games go, about as good as it gets.

Sept 24th, 2016 I-45 North Shootout - Dekaney High School
TxHoops replied to winwin's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Silsbee will go at least 10 deep much like last season. If they get in a meaningful game with their back against the wall, that will change. But as winwin correctly noted, there won't be many of those. -
Texas @ Okie Lite Game Week

Thank goodness. Not to sound like Mack, but I was beginning to wonder if Haines had some "pictures" of Charlie. I'm sure he is a nice kid and he has made some picks of balls thrown right to him but he has no business starting or even getting significant game reps. -

Episcopal beat St Thomas 62-12 last week. Wow. -
Absolutely agree on all of that.

Agree 100% Lester Holt was an awful choice for moderator. He wasn't ready for this. Lost control from the get go and got run over by both of them.

Man, I'm bad enough picking games during the regular season! I have no clue in these fall league games. With full rosters and regular season, you would have to probably favor Sam Houston. They went 34-5 in 6A last year and beat Cy Lakes before being eliminated by Atascocita. I would think the matchup between point guards would be worth the price of admission. By the way, I am assuming this is the old Sam Houston. I think they changed their name to Houston Math & Science or something like that.
