I would defer to several on this board who have seen these teams more than I have. But I would think that arguments could be made for several different orders with the top 4 (imo) in this area, i.e., United, Silsbee, WB and Memorial. Personally, I like @whsalum’s order but I could see it going many different ways. But they all have a ton of talent and are well coached.

And Sutherland has taken a step back since HF has taken a decent share of his recruiting pool. To be fair, if Sutherland is the barometer most replacements would be a “step back.” But it’s kind of like having Dan Ray and Cornel back to back at WOS football. Maybe not to quite that extent but similar imo. Unlike some of the Mustang faithful though, it appears to me that the Hawk folks are aware and thankful for what they have. Not surprising though as they are probably the most astute hoops fan bases in SETX from my experience.

As long as Clay is there, they are going to be at that level. I’ve said it many times but in a region that has wayyyyy more than its fair share of great (hall of fame caliber) coaches, Davis is consistently the most underrated imo. Not sure why that is - great guy who just continues to win.

And as you know, in high school, potential is just that. Silsbee has been fortunate to have a lot of great (not just good, great) players recently, including those two. Based on their high school careers, I’m taking Bush and McCain. But this group still has a say in the matter. I hope this is the year.

I agree and I loved jordyn’s game. But their respective offers should tell you what you need to know. Jared is a bonafide high major kid.

Harris definitely has the most upside (imo) of any player from Silsbee in the past decade or so. But he’s going to have to get some hardware this year to be remembered in that pantheon on the high school level.

Correct on all accounts. Smalley is generally really good with adjustments. And I agree that Tarkington is capable of beating any team in this district.

Serious question - are Texas and OU already the best two SEC teams? I mean at worst they are 2 and 3, right?

Prevent defense is the best there is at preventing winning. OU outplayed us. They deserved unit. Hopefully we get another shot at them in December.

Been saying for 2 years someone needs to teach him how to slide. He just can’t do it. Unathletic 5 year old baseballers all over the country do it every day. Not hard.

Sloppiest we’ve played all year and only down 3 at half. Hopefully we get it together

This game has the feel of two top 5 teams going at it. OU defense much more physical than those cupcakes from Alabama.
