Still a long way to go but best HJ team in at least 4 or 5 years.
How can you say HJ won the Lumberton tournament?  All the teams didn't play the same amount of games due to rainouts.  There were other teams in the tournament without a loss.
This is true. Nobody "won" the Lumberton tourney
 2. Thanks for the updates Mack, sounds to me like a true championship baseball game. District 20-4A should be fun to watch this year. Ill have to make it out to the Lumberton vs LC-M rematch.
 3.
Final LCM 5 Lumberton 3
Peasley started for LC-M and did good, 2R in 4 innings... Lumberton threatened several times leaving the bases loaded twice and stranding several more runners. White threw CG for Lumberton. LCM scored all 5 runs in the first two innings. After the second the LCM offense quieted down but it was all they needed.
 4. Thanks, any numbers? Who's shining? Who's pitching?
 5. This one took place in Lumberton tonight. Shepard had a big righty (Kilek) on the mound that was touching low 90's multiple times, no exaggeration. I don't have his stats but I know he had double digit strikeouts, however 4 or 5 got ok base due to pass balls. I believe he went 5 innings. White started for Lumberton and went 2 2/3 3R. He was relieved by another lefty (name?) then Campbell went the rest of the way. Poor defensive play and walks led to many of the runs scored. It was 6-9 Shepard going into the bottom of the 7th, two lead off walks and a series of hits put Lumberton back in it  and a walk off hit up the middle scored the go ahead run.
 6. In Lumberton tourney Colton Clark (Buna) and Chris Campbell (lumberton) both hit one. Not sure about their graduation years
 7. Duplant pitched 4 1/3 in the Lumb game for the record. Bledsoe threw the rest

Uzzle and Sampere can flat out hit as well as a few others 2) Silsbee - Very strong Junior class with Powell, Gorr, LeBlanc also the new kid will help in the outfield. Should be competitive 3) Buna - Despite the loss of Franklin, they still have a deep staff and a scrappy offense with the Clark boys. 4) HF - Jeffcoat and Jannise will front the rotation with Herring also seeing a lot of innings. Pitching should keep them in the game but offense will be the question
HJ has played 3 games so far, outscored their opponents 33-1 and Duplant hasnt seen the mound yet... He gets the ball against Lumberton this morning at 9. Heard Bridge City got beat by Burnet yesterday 12-1? Sounds like everyone has a shot this year...
The only respectable team HJ has played is Lumberton who handled Duplant fairly well.... HJ trailed 9-4 in the 7th and won the game because of walks, a few errors, and a few timely hits. Yes they still won, but the point is Duplant wasn't untouchable. Also, when they faced a quality PITCHER in Howell, they had 2 hits and 10 runs. That speaks for the quality of Deweyvilles defense right there. Howell is very talented but so are some of the guys they will face in this district
 9. Lumberton beat Orangefield 5-3 in final game of tournament

 11. Jeffcoat started for HF and did fairly well through 2 innings only allowing 2 runs despite a few walks and jams. Then in the 3rd I believe, the raiders had a big inning with walks and timely hits. Herring and Jannise both pitched in relief for the longhorns. Hicks also hit a solo homer. Good job by the raiders producing runs
 12.
The list of Sophamores that I saw that included Roddy and Roedahl was pretty darn salty 10-12 guys that are very very good ball players. I will bet almost everyone of them will be given the opportunity for next level play. Just my opinion.
100% true... Both are special...

I haven't heard of many freshman but some of the Sophs that stand out.. Franklin - Kountze Shuggart- BC Howard - PA Memorial Proctor - BMT Kelly Padgett - HJ (injured) Anderson - WO-S Croft - Vidor Marshall - Kountze Only freshman I know of are Cleveland - Buna, and Young - Lumberton... Just a few that came to my mind... Who did I miss?
Smith - Nederland Broussard, C - Nederland Those two are both really solid ball players. Broussard is almost a 5 tool player, can do a little of everything. And Smith has power and very good pitching skills.
Sophs or freshman? Thanks

 15. Ozen will definitely be a spoiler but I don't seem them makin a playoff spot with the caliber of teams they will be facing... Chambers can hold his own on the bump but besides Crawford I'm not sure they have the bats to produce runs against above average pitching... I'm just ready to see what this year holds for 20-4A
 16. I know both Franklin and Marshall can run it up faster than 82-84.... Im not saying they were because i didnt see it but i have seen them before and Franklin has been 86-88 on multiple occasions and Marshall has been an 84-85 type guy more than once from the times i have watched these guys.
 17. Lumberton wins 3-1 in 7 innings. Liberty's ace left the mound in the first inning due to arm problems. Solid pitching from Lumberton led by (Campbell: 3 innings 4K) (White 2 inning 4K 1BB) held the Panthers to only one run given up by the Lumberton freshman in the 6th. Liberty has some good young talent coming up.
 18. 1. LC-M - Good 1, 2 punch with Humphrey and Swan. Seems like they can flat out hit every year... 2.Vidor - STACKED with pitching (Foshee X2, Schrilla, Smith, Fregia) , if the offense can produce runs, should be dominant 3.Ned - deep rotation fronted by Sanderson and Nevala and should have solid bats... 4. Lumberton - This team has had a ton of potential the last three years. I think the new coach was what they needed to get the program together. Rotation led by White, Campbell, and Erikson, these guys could sneak in.
 19. Livingston: This group will most likely struggle due to lack of experience and leadership... Lantrip will have to carry a lot of weight on the mound if this team is going going to be successful. Just hope he doesn't get overthrown. Lumberton: Could definitely be a spoiler and may sneak into a playoff spot. Not many seniors from what I understand but word is they have a very strong group of juniors. Erikson will help out in the top of the order with White, Campbell, and Smith all getting innings on the bump. Ozen: Always seems to pull of upsets and this year may be the same... Chambers will be the leader on the hill for the Panthers as Crawford will need to step up as a leader. He runs well and covers a ton of ground in the OF.
