Dont forget about Tyler Herrell. Tyler can eat up some innings as well.

PN-G has two, possibly three starters that have yet to practice or play due to basketball. With three to four positions wide open, it will take a few tournaments to figure out the pieces of the puzzle. Way to early to say "best team in the area". IMO Silsbee would be that team, they went to the finals last year, and didn't lose much. As far as depth for PN-G, yes, pitching.

My no. 1 candidate would be 3A Pleasant Grove coach. 6 consecutive trips to state tourn. defending state champs. Gotta be doing something right. Take a trip to Austin this week, and bring the check book.

Saw G.T. vs PNG, GT infield had 4 errors, outfield had 1. Best bunting team I have ever seen. Top to bottom can lay em down. Above average speed on the bases. Swung at a lot of pitches up above the zone, but hit line drives when in the zone. Top pitcher is lefty 82-84, average curve, nice cutter though. There closer is righty, submarine guy, upper 80's but not consistent. I don't think they have the STUD pitcher to carry them much farther, they will have to out score teams from here on out.

Just been informed, taken the tarp off the field and starting to work on it. bus left at 1:30. Probably a trip for nothin. Oh well gotta go!

No one can play on thursday, schools have STAR testing going on. What im hearing is if they get rained out. They will drive north until they find a dry field.

Im with you Shly, after seeing above average pitching during district. lantrip, sanderson, raines, smith, foshee, etc...we hit the ball much better against Summer Creek. And after being in multiple low scoring extra inn. games I like the one game series. It puts a lot of pressure on defences to make plays. I like our chances.
