Bring on the rain Delta, just keep that lightning away. Heavy rain may not help Splendora's shotgun spread offense. The Pirates have had their share of fumbles this year, ball control will be the key to victory tonight. It's a good thing Vidor has turf now or this would be a mud bowl.

Oh boy this will be fun, I figured they would make some changes and let their studs play more. Vidor usually has everything set but injuries may force other players to step up or play both ways.

I guess, I know there were several banged up after the Jasper game but I was hoping the bye week would allow time to recover. Just have to keep an eye on the sideline and see who is not suited up, hopefully there won't be more than 1 or 2 starters out.

I watched a RB in the Shepherd highlights last week that looked pretty good, might have been number 22 or 29 not sure.

Hearing rumblings that the Pirates might have a couple of key players on each side of the ball sit out or play through pain, not the best news coming off a bye. No excuses though it's go time, get the W and start district play off right. The rain should make it interesting, there could be some turnovers tonight. I agree, from what I have seen I think their offense will be able to move the ball and put up some points but there is a weak point somewhere in that team judging by their past games. The Pirates just have to find that weakness and exploit it but you never know because like you said, every game counts now. Splendora could decide to pull out all the stops and play their best players both ways in district play. Which could shore up whatever weaknesses they have had to this point. Whether it be line help, defense or lack of depth but we shall see. They may have to move this game to Thursday, with all the Homecoming hoopla I just hope the Pirates show up focused and bring the pain. I look for a close game at halftime with Vidor pulling away late. Go Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

The only thing that worries me about this game is remembering the way Santa Fe came into Vidor as an underdog a couple of years ago and beat us on Homecoming. They used a precise, quick hit, short yardage passing attack to move the ball on us all night. Hopefully we are much improved with this team in the areas of coverage and pass pressure but we have yet to face a good passing attack this year. We will see what kind of challenges Splendora brings, it should be an interesting matchup of two completely different styles.

They should be able to hold him under 100 yards if all they run is draw plays out of the shotgun. Power runs or wildcat works best against Vidor. I think he will have a decent day but if you try to be cute the Pirates front will eat you up. Keep an eye out for the Vidor QB he’s been chewing up yardage on the ground this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has more yards rushing than the Splendora RB does in this matchup.
