  1. Well this could be our last game of the season so I guess I’ll spell it out for these guys. #1 should be getting 10 touches a game out of the backfield, #12 should be getting 3 targets a game. #11 and #26 should be splitting time in the backfield. #43 and #55 should be on the line in short yardage situations. These are all defensive players and that’s why Vidor’s offense is not very good this year.
  2. I know right, first paycheck you’d be like WTF.
  3. You’d probably quickly regret that decision after a couple of games.
  4. Why would we need JV players? We already have enough capable bodies that aren’t used enough.
  5. Damnit... we need more people to drop unnecessary flags for fake holding penalties.
  6. Gee. After reading this comment, I can’t imagine why you aren’t beating down their doors to become an official.
  7. I see where you’re going with this... and I like it.
  8. Vidor has a chance to finish 4-4, I think the best Lumberton can do is 3-7 but yes I agree with the general premise of your point.
  9. It has really hindered us from developing receivers and passers. Which is our weakness so they should have been working on that the most. I don’t have confidence in it coming around though, they don’t even know what personnel to use to get it done.
  10. Well it has come down to this, winner take all for a playoff spot. I didn’t think either team would be in this situation, for different reasons but here we are. Vidor or Lumberton to represent our lowly district, as a 3 or 4 seed to face a tough Lindale or Kilgore team in the first round. Who ya got? I think the Pirates have the bigger, better athletes but Lumberton just might want it bad enough to pull out the W at home. I just hope we get some decent referees and the players give it their all because this will be the last football game ever played for the seniors on one of these teams.
  11. Crosby fans should look for a DC sooner than later @BHFANGTFO of their way, these guys mean business.
  12. Man you guys are going hard but I can’t argue with the lifelong fans. What is there keep Jeff from restructuring the coaching staff? What is to keep him from staying the AD and hiring all new coaches? He’s the boss in Vidor whether you like it or not.
  13. Negative, the passing game won’t be there. Vidor has done an excellent job in coverage and the pass rush will swallow you alive if you give them any time at all. The thing that has hurt us is athletic QBs who make plays on their own, so maybe you have a chance there.
  14. OMG, tell me about it. If only I could have had a black athletic child.
  15. Yea your right about that Unc, only getting worse but idk we used to get on them pretty good at the peewee games lol.
  16. We ran into the same thing at Livingston, I thought that may have just been a bad crew from up that way. Then we had the local crew last night who sucked just as bad, if not worse. I know it’s a hard job and not many people want to do it but come on, this is a game changing call here. It was the ref on the far sideline, he casually dropped a flag at the feet of the lead blocker but he had great position on the defender. Plus the QB was long gone by then, not sure what he was thinking there. The ref on that side had several questionable calls but he wouldn’t throw the flag where you could see a penalty call. He’d just drop it at his feet and nobody even knew there was a penalty until they stopped the game.
  17. Dude that PI was ridiculous, I’ve never seen that called when the defender has better position and a better chance at the ball than the receiver. That one penalty was a big contributor to their touchdown drive after the line drive punt from hell.
  18. Let’s play a game, we’ll call it. Where is the holding? [Hidden Content]
  19. Where is the holding call? Spoiler alert there shouldn’t have been one, Vidor wins. [Hidden Content]
  20. That’d be a good game but I’ll take McNeese to win right now.
  21. Our line play is good on both sides of the ball, it’s everything else that is suspect. I think they have the horses but they just don’t realize it. I have seen an obvious lack of development in key positions over the years that could have made a difference this season. If you would have groomed them to be playmakers and used them as such. What we run works most of the time so they run it all day long but have failed to build skill players and diversity on offense. Our defense is good because that’s the focus every year but now teams have forced us out of our comfort zone and we haven’t developed anything else to rely on. It’s too late to fix it now, you can’t put players in the game to throw them their first ever passes and hope it works. These things should have been implemented and worked on over the years. The one thing we needed this season was a reliable passing game but we never built that. We built a running team with a good defense, even though they have the players who could have made a passing attack work. They just keep the best athletes on defense and hope to win a close low scoring game.
  22. We’ve been bigger on the lines than just about every team we’ve seen this year, doesn’t matter. We don’t have game breakers or playmakers. At least they aren’t in the game when they need to be.
  23. One game for the rights to get smacked down in the playoffs lol. What a glorious finale this season has come down to.
  24. I figured that would get your attention, give me an honest prediction old boy. Or are you going to wait for a little more info and post it on the pregame thread?
