I like how after the game teams don’t shake hands anymore. They just meet in the middle of the field and talk crap, that’s the second game in a row I have seen that from our opponents. Is this the new normal? I hope not. Vidor will shake hands with any team as we have done with most of our adversaries. Some teams are using that post game show of sportsmanship to show boat instead.

A whole lot of luck there Huffman but I guess that’s what it takes to stay undefeated sometimes. They are who we thought they were and we let em off the hook! The refs took away our game winning TD and the MVP is the punter. What an unbelievable ballgame.

4th and 6 we ran the ball... didn’t get it. Ballgame Vidor loses by 2 due to the opposing punter and the referees.

Timeout Vidor 2:13 facing 3rd and 11 from the 33. Likely 2 plays to decide the ballgame.

OMG... these refs just erased a 40 yard Vidor TD to take the lead. Back to back holding calls, unbelievable. Running out of time here 4 minutes left and down 2. 4th and 7 for the Pirates now, from the 42. Going for it, pass he caught it and got rocked but held on. 1st down Vidor!!!

And the punter somehow... Amazing.

Halftime adjustment, punt line drives at Vidor on 4th down and 40... damn you football goods. Now they complete a 2 point conversion after we mysteriously went for one early and didn’t get it. Two score game now, offense better pull some plays out.

Oh man... I swear we have the worst luck HH just punted on 4th and a full mile and kicked a line drive punt that never got above 4 ft off the ground. It hits a vidor player in the backside and they recover... plus we get a personal foul penalty for diving into the pile for the ball. Now they just called a PI on us when our DB had better position than the receiver and went for the ball. It looks like they are going to score here but that is just pure luck... or bad luck in the Pirates case.

Adjustments, let’s see what they come up with to stop the run.

It’s been a good game so far HH is all #7, Vidor is moving the ball well. The Pirates should have had another score but a good pass was dropped in the endzone. Vidor has a distinct size advantage on the line of scrimmage, 7-6 because we went for two for some odd reason after the opening score. We’ve missed so many easy touchdowns this year it makes you sick, somebody has to make a play on the offense.

Not much interest in that game I guess? I couldn't find a pregame thread for it on here. Lumberton and Splendora, where is that one being played at?

Thanks, he’s really stepped it up the last two games. 2 interceptions, punt block, recovery and touchdown. Hoping for a big night but I’ll just be happy with a W. Go Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

It's game day! I think I'm going to sit this one out as far as updates go. It's my boys last game playing at Pirate stadium and I might get a little emotional. So, I'm just going to put the phone away, live in the moment, root them on and enjoy. If someone wants to provide the occasional update for the people of setxsports, I'm sure they would appreciate it.

They have a linebacker that runs pretty hard, I wish they would feature him a little more.

I agree if we can't throw the ball then put the big boys on the Oline and lets push some people around with a jumbo package.

LCM has some decent relievers but you better play them at defensive back this week. Half of Livingston’s pass plays are deep shots. The quarterback rolls out and throws a jump ball a mile in the air. You better watch their QB if he is lined up at upback on punts they will fake it. Send somebody to hit him on every punt. The Bears best shot is to get after the Lions starting QB early and often.

So we lost to Livingston, I’m ok with that they are actually pretty good for once. I was just disappointed in the way the offense looked dead out there. It was the Splendora game that really got me, as you can see they aren’t very good and everyone is now beating them. They blew that one and had they not they’d still be sitting in a good position. Everything you said above really showed in that game but I do think they have realized these issues are a major problem and they are working to fix it. I think you will see even more changes this week, I wish they could have played a full schedule and maybe figured some of this stuff out before district came. Those first 3 games never exposed our weaknesses the way or district opponents have.

It should be a good one, hopefully we can get the passing game worked out. I just hope the boys show up and give it all they have on Senior night.
