1.
lets not forget that lee jumped on gcm last year and then let the patriots back in the game.
You are right about that, i think it has actually been the past two years that GCM has turnover the ball a couple times at the start of the game leading them to have to dig themselves out of a hole.  Hopefully that will change this year.
2.
Has a team on Lee's schedule won a game this year? I am not sold on that 4-0 record.
I'm with you about the 4-0, but I guess I have to give them credit.  You have play who's on your schedule and beat the bad ones too. That being said they will be 4-1 after this week.
3. Panama are going to be able to make the game? So is this a better Lee team than last year?  Didn't they have more players (athletes) last year.  I know their subvarsity's haven't done to well the past years.
4. The Goose vs Lee.  This will be a major game for securing a play off spot for either team.  The one that loses will really have to fight an up hill battle.  I dont think you can read into records to much.  Lee hasnt played anyone of significance while GCM lost to Nederland/TC both good-very good teams.  I know that Lee has the Zellers kid and he is great athlete.  Hopefully we will be able to stop him.  I personally dont think that Lee can stop our offense if we dont help them out with fumbles.  Hopefully we can get some baytown people out and in the stands to help support these kids and make it a fun atmosphere.
5. We will have to be beat Lee, Ball, GP & Santa Fe for a trip to the playoffs.  I believe we will, but first up is Lee.  I think we handle this one if we limited our mistakes and stay focused, don't let become anything other than a normal district game that we have to win.
6. The biggest thing is I hope the kids can get some support for the team at home.  I know like you have said in your messages they are building it brick by brick.  That can all be undone real quick if they go home and their parents sit there and bad mouth their coaches.  I didnt go to school to coach, i choose a more labor intensive job (of watching a screen at a plant) haha.  So really all i have are my opinions and have to believe that these guys really have my son's and the teams best interest at heart not some petty favorites or whatever. Fear the Goose - Brick by Brick
7. You do have a great point about the RB from last night, he didnt want contact you could see that.  I think we would actually be at our best if it was by committee, like who has the hot hand.  That way everyone is fresh.  What worries me more is the lack of a dominant FB. Im still not sure which starters on defense you are talking about.  From what i saw personally at the game was a couple get hurt.  Plus we gave up 31 points in the first half so i dont think anyones job should have been safe in the 2nd half.  I think it should have been the 11 most committeed to tackling the ball carrier not just falling down. We have got to find away to get our defense solid.  It really comes down to the kids wanting to make tackles.  Nobody can do that for them. I also am not sure which players you are calling favorites.  I think you said earlier your son is a senior so you have been around longer than me to form that opinion.  Also not sure who keeps getting broken down, all i get is information from my son. I think that we are still headed to the playoffs if we can keep laying those bricks.
8.
down by two touchdowns at halftime and take your starters out on defense. you have three very good RB's  and you start your freesafety at rb. free safety gets hurt you move a kid from lb to rb even though your three RB's have not touched the ball all night. you have one of the top WR's in the 2013 recruitng class in the nation and you have him playing LB,(by the way he only played one play in the second half),and have not played WR all year. does this sound like someone who wants to win. if you give up on your team what  do you expect in return. IJS P.S. I needed to get this off my chest. sorry if I offended anyone but C'MON MAN!(and this is not all but I will stop here.)
I dont want to get into an argument here because we need to be unified like our boys but like you said i need to get it off my chest too. What starters did you see pulled at halftime last night.  I saw more subs having to be made due to injury or fatigue or to be coached up.  I never saw players being pulled because the team or the coaching staff was giving up. That is a good point about the RB's, we do have some players at RB's.  I think it was one of the best coaching decisions of the year to switch the kid to RB that started last night.  The one from last week (George Ranch game) doesnt have the speed to take it to the house like the one last night did. You point out the Stud WR, the problem is he has been around in like 2 weeks because of off the field problems (not going to air his business).  You have to be able to count on a kid.  Crazy talent though. The main problem i see was it was a game where we were going to have to play close to mistake free football and we didnt.  That is a very good TC team with a ton of athletes.  The fumble drive and in the int that hit the WR dead in the hands was way to costly. Also not being able to hold their offense for a min right before half allowed them to open the gap to 14pts when it should have only been 7 or maybe 4. The GCM teams that i have watched the past two years would have given up when it got touch, this years team is showing  more heart than that. It is still a long district season and we will be in the playoffs. Fear the Goose cause its coming for the Ganders.
9. GCM JV beats Tx City JV @ Home 27-14.  Good win for the boys.
10. From what I'm hearing is he is back or still there.  Should be ready to go with the rest of the guys for Texas City
11.
Final JV GCM. 21 Ned.  13
Great Job Patriots, were down 7-6 @ half.  Fought hard and pulled out the W.  Never quit.
12.
Int LR. LR looks solid, except only on trick plays by GCM. LR defense is the best part if this game. 4thqtr  4:43
What trick plays are you referring to?  You mean the option, that's been a part of our offense for years.  The only trick play was on the punt at the beginning of the game.  We have to be able to hit an open WR. Way to sloppy on offense but a win is a win.  Go Pats.
13. See now there is a smart comment, he realizes what will be after this evening.
14. 11 hours till Kickoff.  Time to bring it.
15. I'm so excited I wont be able to sleep.  I can't wait for the game tomorrow.  I hope we open it up and get the ball to our playmakers.
16. My son said they were actually missing over about 15 players due to missing practice last week for many various reasons.  So it wasn't just a jamar Gibson thing.  It was a setting and expectation thing and holding the kids accountable.  I actually am impressed by it.  Have no fear my son said that Jamar will be back in good standing next week, hopefully standing across that goal line ha. As far as the scrimmage goes, holy cow can we hold on to the ball.  It completely different game if we do that.  If we can hold on to the ball, I don't think lumberton can handle the speed.  I think the best we can is spread them out and move the ball around.  I hope the coaches take this next week and stress those fundamentals and get those kids focused.  Thursday can't come fast enough. Go Pats
17. It might be a long shot but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Tomball Memorial.  I think this year will be their first year competing varsity or maybe I just haven't heard of them.  All I know is I'm glad it's a Stallworth, that drive to LCM for 13 varsity plays and a ton of rain wasn't fun.
18. GCM offense got 12 plays in before they had to postpone till tomorrow.  Crazy amount of rain came down as we waited about an hour to see if we could resumed.  Helpful hint, under visitors bleachers will not keep you dry from a rain storm, leaked like a sieve, ha
19. If used correctly, I think he could be a great asset to team.
20. How is LCM looking this year?  They still have the really fast rb correct?
