Just want to give a shout out to Coach Thames and his Patriot players.  Started the year 0-3 and have gone 12-1 since then.  Only lost the 4 games by a total of 6 runs too.  Keep up the good work, should get a good test this Tuesday versus the Fwood Mustangs. 

Good win by the Patriots, would have like them to finished strong like the middle innings.  I think we lost focus towards the end and we will need to fix that for district play.  It was nice to see the team over come some adversity too.  We won without 2 starters.  It was great to prove no player is bigger than the team and that someone is always ready to step in and make plays.  Keep it up Patriots.

Hopefully it will be a great game.  We finally woke up and little bit on Sat and beat Dobie 16-5 and Summer Creek 11-1.  Im sure all the kids will be cranked up another level.  Good luck to both sides and keep rolling Patriots.

What does he have to know about?  Sounds like he got his car towed so he knows what happened.  Could be wrong I guess.

Hopefully we can get some fans their tonight whether they are from Baytown or not to pack the stands and support these boys.

[/quote] Where is there a house close enough by that you can watch their practice?  They practice behind the school which is behind the tennis courts.  Springfield is in front of the school.  There is a neighborhood to the west but that is across several fields. I think we are actually lacking physical size compared to most teams we play.  As far as size in numbers i think they could be larger but it is easier to walk the halls then conform to a certain rules.  To many want things given to them rather than earned.  Hopefully starting a winning tradition like tonight will show the kids that the hard work and discipline pay off.

Anyone heard any updates about Terry's injuries.  I thought I read that the big receiver dislocated his shoulder or something.

Man its going to be a long three days.  I do love this cold spell coming in with this week.  I have the boys have a great week of practice and get focused up, then represent the City of Baytown with a great showing Thursday night.

Anybody at least heard a score here?

We have a great one - two punch in the running game with Granberry and Durden.  Durden had 4 carries for 142 yds last night for like 35.5 ypc avg.  I know most came one run but they have been doing it all year.  We have good receivers too and the OL has been playing better.  Individual credit always comes along with the TEAM is successful. I think the key will be if the defense can bring the wood and intensity like they did for the Galena Park game.  I think these kids are primed and ready to go.

Still pumped this morning, hope the boys enjoy this one at school today then get ready for business.

My son said the coaches said it would come down to points that Lamar con beats Foster by, if they can even beat them. It doesn't matter to me, hopefully we get healthy and bring that intensity im Deer Park

Hopefully we can all get behind these boys as the push to the 1st GCM team to get past the 1st round. Get job Patriots, unfinished business though.

Here is another interesting POV: Look up Refugio in South Texas, they are a traditional powerhouse in the district with weaker teams.  Their coach has always had to pull his starters at halftime due to beating teams badly.  They had always made it several rounds deep but couldn't get over the hump to win it all. Last year the coach came out and said why is fair that his kids only got to play a half when all the other teams kids were getting play 4 qtrs.  So last year he played his kids full games and they routinely beat people by 50pts.  It all paid off in the end because they were State Champions in Dec. I think espn or si actually picked up on too through out the season.

[/quote] Agreed, tackle better.  That's part of what's wrong with the world today.  Make it the fault of the winning team.  Why not work harder to get better and prevent it from happening.  Sure there are teams that are flat out better but things can still be done.  Also why should the winning teams back ups be penalized and told not to score. I'm sure I'm on the minority side, everyone is going to say how damaging it is to the feelings to get the score ran up on.  Work hard, use it as motivation and get ready for when your next chance comes around.

GCM vs Galena Park this week should decide the spot for the last playoff team.
