This district is weak this year the TALENT level has droped off from past years!!! Personally i dont understand why everyone is mad about some soph player.... Alright this kid is good for THIS DISTRICT!!! plan and simple he can play with these players and teams so i AGREE he is good but for this district he still has alot to learn! The only player in this district right now who can play on almost any level is Copeland and that is the truth!!! But like you said this District is up for grabs and it will be exciting to see who comes out on top this season!! Copeland, Copeland, Copeland, MVP Copeland only had 17 pts. against Spurger, remember this name Soph. Shain Rawls, because he was the one in Copeland face all night. Yes, Copeland is a great player, but he also has things to learn & he's a Senior. And what about Jr. Daniel Blankenship from Spurger who had 33points against WH. Copeland is overrated, he has turned into a big whin bag, don't remember him whinning as much last year as I have seen him do this year & still needs to learn how to play DEFENSE also.

George is hurt may be out for a while. Do you know about how long Mr. Catman????? I'm not Mr. Catman, but I do know that the MRI results will determine this! Should know how long for both #12 & #10 by Feb. 2nd or 3rd

What? Evadale only lost by 8 in HD, not to bad, may be a different outcome when HD goes to Evadale. Spurger beat HD by 13 in Spurger. Spurger's has had major changes to their team with 2 out with injuries, but if they play like they did against West Hardin, they still have a shot as one of the top leaders in the district.

Proud of those Spurger Pirates, they really stepped it up and played well tonight. Played with 2 starters out and JV Rawls moved up and made a great addition to the team. RAWLS held COPELAND to 17 tonight with only 6 @ half time. Blankenship lite it up, not sure how many but I would bet in the 30's, team defense was awesome.

HOW BAD IS THE INJURY???? don't know yet, within "1" trip down the court in the second quarter, whittaker down with knee injury, while he was down, mcgallion down with elbow injury @ the other end of court, whittaker came out of game for the night, mcgallion in and out of game, unable to shoot, only had left hand, both were taken to hospital, whittaker referred to ortho dr., on crutches and w/mobilizer on rt. knee until MRI results, ER dr. says fx. to knee and possible other injury, and mcgallion with severe contusion to rt. elbow, x-rays clear

Pretty undecided on this one in WH & just image this-----Copeland and F.Jones both racking up 32pts. ea. Then what would the outcome be like No matter what the outcome, will we get some stats on this game???

Spurger's player didn't shove anyone. Coach Issacs told me that when he asked the ref. what the TF on the player was for, the ref. told him that the player seemed frustrated/upset over the previous call. Coach Issacs also told me that when he repeatedly asked what his TF was for, the ref. repeatedly asked him if he wanted a time out, basically refused to give him an explanation. As it stands, Sharks are 1-0, Pirates are 0-1, their was nothing that could be done that night or can be done & that is that!!! On to the next game............

Sorry to have to prove you wrong wise one Sabine-Wasson,Carlos,Jones,Jones,Nguyen all only have 2year of Varsity(starting 5) Cruthirds,Berg,Peltier,Johnson 1year (comes off the bench) Spurger-Mcgallion,Whittaker 2years-Blankenship 2-3years-those 2 seniors 2-4 years of Varsity (Starting 5). I'm not sure about ya'll but it looks like Spurger have more Varsity Experience than Sabine Pass...Numbers don't lie So it really is a good sign for the Sharks Your whole post was just bad sense Great game Spurger Are u calling out wise one?, the was whsalum's post Spurger starting "5" Soph. Vakidis, it wasn't the environment! No hardships with Evadale, i'm pulling for Evadale, just not in the Spurger/Evadale game

I am sick to death of this YOUTH crap & for SP to be agreeing with it is crap also. Spurger starting "5" are 2 soph, 1 jr., 2 sr. And the 2 soph. makes Spurger be a young/youth team. These two soph. have had a bball in their hands as long as they could walk & had more competition & big game experience, than SP ever could dream of. Yes, SP is playing the best ball they have in a long time & they are a team of nearly all jr., well good for them. Congrats to them! I've got a couple of questions How many T's would be called in a game if every player LOOKED frustrated/upset over a call, (keep in mind nothing said or done toward anyone) only LOOKED frustrated/upset over a call? (This was the explanation given to the coach) Doesn't a coach have the right to know why "he" gets a T? (Wound not give him a reason, b/c their wasn't one) What does anyone think of a fan/parent coming up to a player (Spurger player) @ the end of the game & telling him he has bad sportsmanship, etc., etc. ? This is uncalled for these players are still YOUTH! I, as a fan, dread to go to a couple of places for games & I just didn't expect this one being one of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Spurger Pirates played well w/ the 3A Cleveland Indians in Cleveland tonight Whittaker 25 McGallion15 Blankship 10, would have been 12, if they would have counted the buzzer better. Then the score would have been 64/58 Great job guys, keep working hard!!!

We have no idea. Coach Isaacs finalized the game a month ago. Coach started getting a little concerned about Leggett not being in Spurger yet. He started trying to get ahold of someone with no luck, then called a board member he knows, only to find out that Leggett wasn't coming, no call, not nothing!!! We didn't find out until the 3rd quarter of the girls game. Very upsetting for the players, especially the seniors, the coach, & the fans. This was HOMECOMING. As for as I understood, their will not be a game in the future w/ Leggett and if their is any action that can be taken against them, it will be took.

Nothing against either teams But to OFballer, looks like it was a loss for the season opener for orangefield as well and not by 2 points I may add
