Crosby vs Angleton --- 2nd place at stake.

Also, be aware of Angleton’s propensity to use blind side blocks. They were called for about 5 of them if I recall correctly. -
Crosby vs Angleton --- 2nd place at stake.

Angleton wasn’t able to run against La Porte. They burnt LP up with long passes to their tall, speedy WR’s. I seem to remember y’all’s secondary being better cover guys than LP’s. It will depend on if y’all can stuff the run like LP did. Angleton’s D is pretty stout. They were keying on Barnes, and Simon was an unknown to them. So, he had a big day to the tune of 351 yards and 4 TD’s. (Of course, he’s also a special player—freshman or not.) Y’all are gonna have to scrounge for yards. It may be a lower scoring game than what you think. But, I think you’re in-line with the low Crosby score. I’m thinking somewhere closer to 21-7 if y’all’s pass D can hold up. The Angleton QB likes to just launch it & LP missed a couple fairly easy INT’s y’all may be better able to get. Not that you’ll be able to score off them. But, it could take possessions away from them & keep the score within a pretty big upset range. Good luck to both teams, and come away injury free & PO ready. -
That’s a pretty big compliment to the young man. RIP Leo. Gone too soon.

Kingwood Park (21) @ Friendswood (49) - FINAL

So, Friendswood wraps up 4 seed I believe? -
La Porte will be the 1 seed and District Champion from 11-5A D1 barring a total collapse against Pasadena next week after their win against undefeated Angleton tonight.

Yes. Was hoping for no serious injuries. Hope he gets back for PO’s. Need both teams to let District 12 know we’re down here.

Good game. Went about as expected except with Simon doing all LP damage as Angleton keyed on Barnes all night. LP got a little sloppy in 3rd and let Angleton back in the game. Will need to address that for PO’s. LP D was burned for some big passes for TD’s. Angleton has a good blend of run/pass and a good QB with a couple speedy//tall receivers. They couldn’t run against LP. LP did what was needed and just played to their strength running the ball. I don’t remember them passing more than maybe 3 times all game.

Angleton’s having to pass the ball to move the chains. Couple of big passing plays, but not much else. Both D’s playing well so far. But, Simon—Freshman—is a man child. Looks like they were keying on Barnes (for good reason). If they start keying on Simon, LP will go with Barnes, Sandolph, or Bright. Looks like a PO game early. Good for both teams.
