Gil Stalbaum-Barbers Hill Eagles 28-6-1 playing in regional semi-finals today. Lost returning ss/pitcher Chase Barrera for the season, two days before season began. Pitching ace, Ross Hales returning from off-season surgery. First year in 4AAAA, and rumored to be smallest 4A school in state. BH #8 in state 4A polls.

You are absolutley correct..it has been a complete joy watching and cheering for this group of kids. Let's keep it going. I told "jr" the other night to really savor the moment..you may never play on a team like this again..ever. The friendship among them, the chemistry, the support for each other has been unbelievable. I would imagine that coach feels the same way. Go Eagles !

I look for a Cody Springer-Ross Hales matchup today. (spoke w/ Hales yesterday. He's ready to go, as always. ) Bobby Stone vs. Kendall Thamm matchup tomorrow. Just my opinion. GO EAGLES !

Kendall Thamm (10-1) w/ 109 k's, 24 walks, ERA of 1.12, threw 2-hitter in regional quarter-finals vs. Bay City. Thanks for the support MIF04. I know Hales and Campbell well...they are indeed class acts. This year's BH team is loaded with class acts and good students. They have been a complete joy to watch and support. Thursday night game @ BH should be a full house. Looking forward to a great series between two very talented teams.

Good question, BHFan.. I need to see updated stats..I know it is over 30. Townley, Campbell, and Ponder combined are about 20 between them. Hales, Hulsey, Helmley, Kelley, Carmona, Rocha have all gone yard at least once this year. Hulsey has two grand slams.

I don't think you can "hands down" anyone for pitcher of the year...There are several out there with very impressive stats...You've got two alone just @ BH. ;D

Thamm finishes w/ 3-1, 2-hit victory. Should have been 1-hit shutout...unbelievable call by plate umpire on strikeout that should have ended the game. Defense near flawless again. The way Hales and Thamm are throwing the rock, backed up by very solid defense....anything is possible. Catcher Cameron Campbell an excellent job of calling the game tonight. Great job Eagles !

Thamm and Hales are both junior southpaws.

Too many too chose from.. BH biased..Thamm 9-1, 102k's, 24 bb, 1.20 ERA..still playing Hales 10-3 , 113k's, @ 20 bb, ERA less than 1.00...still playing. Ive seen Harrington (PNG) and Dean (NC)..got to include both of them. Many more I've read and heard about...not sure if you can narrow this category down to just one (IMO).

Safetyman.. I'm going BH in 2..and I hope your kid gets rich...nothing personal. ;D ;D

Great stuff, MIF04. Mine is "just" a JR....but I know it's coming. Best of luck to your son. I bet he will do just fine. You've given him a great head start on things. Chances are, Dad will be O.K. also.
