  1. Unfortunately, Heat Summer Invitational was far the most part rained out. Mine plays w/ the Heat Black. They got one game in on Friday @ Klein High School. There were about 25-30 scouts there.
  2. On second thought, maybe you are a different ETBU. I noticed a karma of positive 6.....can't be. ;) ;)
  3. Well said, Sarge. Best of all, it is a friendly competitiveness. These two kids are great friends...working out together, spending the weekend at each others house. Both kids' parents are friends. Should be exciting to watch these two next year.
  4. ETBU...what are you smoking my friend ? ;D Seriously, how have you been ?
  5. My bad.
  6. Well said 643. I agree completely...Way too many fish in the pond to wait around and see if something happens. Fortunately, mine happens to be a left-handed pitcher which helps a great deal...but still the competition out there is pretty fierce.
  7. Ross Hales-BH (0.89 ERA ) 11-4, 123 K's, 19 BB's, 75.0 innings Kendall Thamm-BH (1.69 ERA ) 10-2, 113 K's, 27 BB's, 74.2/3 innings Both 1st team all-district 21-4A, Both 3rd all-Greater Houston. Herrington kid @ PNG has to be on my list also.
  8. Sarge, You are correct...they will both be back next year....and both of them sure are gonna miss their catcher. ;)
  9. and yet the smartest guy/gal on this thread...JDOG that is. ;)
  10. Im going w/ MESOFTBALL15....something about a maturity test. After reading thru this thread...I lost track of it's intent. Something about best JV pitchers ? I assume those that will be on Varsity next year. If correct, I'll throw out Jay Burditt and Matt Peterson at Barbers Hill. However, both will throw very, very seldom....'cause the top 4 @ BH are returning, led by Hales and Thamm. ;)
  11. Hey, KOOP. Don't forget Colby Townley, BH, Left fielder. ;D 1-2 at the plate, nice running catch in left w/ runner on second.
  12. Barbers Hill and LCM. BH returns top 4 pitchers, led by Ross Hales and Kendall Thamm...both named to 3rd team All-Greater Houston. LCM returns a wealth of talent.
  13. Great job guys on what surely has to be one tough job. Especially glad that you recognized Hales' performance instead of his 3 "no-fault" losses. Well done. I have really enjoyed this site during this year's baseball season. Looking forward to next year and some more great SE TX baseball.
  14. I agree w BC BOY 17...until the first snap, Jasper is a baseball town..er..State Championship baseball town. Congratulations from BH.
  15. Congratulations to Jasper. I agree with an ealier post that Jasper is the best team this year...which is what matters. However, best ever 3A...I have to go with the '04 La Grange team with Homer Bailey ( who is making his MLB debut tonight w/ the Reds ). They were 30-1 on the season, they could all hit, and Bailey simply mowed people over.
  16. True that Bulldog3...and best of luck to you. I imagine "JR" and I will be catching some Lamar games next season.....watching his former batterymate and good friend play some ball.
  17. No doubt...best of luck to Mr. Stringer.
  18. Cameron has a 100 % academic scholarship to Lamar and will play baseball. Cam is one of the best defensive catchers I have seen. He can also hit for average and power. But is intelligence is the most important.....like having a coach behind the plate. Best of luck, Cam. BH is going to miss you tremendously !
  19. I've been told that the Junior prospects game is on the 20th, instead of the 19th. The Houston5Abaseball website has info. about these events.
  20. The Houston area all-star game is on the 19th and 20th @ Rice. There is also a combine associated with this event. It is on the 19th @ HBU. Also, on the 19th @ Rice is an all-star game made up junior (soon to be seniors ) prospects. Kendall Thamm (BH pitcher) has been invited to play in the juniors game. Not sure, but would imagine that Ross Hales ( BH pitcher ) will be there also. Good luck to all players, especially the seniors.
  21. Harrington (PNG) 2 BH 1...kid shut us down...He's got my vote.
  22. Let your friends from the hill (BH)...clear it up for you guys....Savor the moment....you are still playing...We were so close....you could smell it. Seriously, best of luck to both.. Win the toss, play close to my job, at the correct time....I'll be the guy in the BH cap watching some quality SETEX baseball.... : : ;D ;D
  23. Pitchers---- Ross Hales ( BH)........Kendall Thamm (BH)............... Stats provided upon request. ;D ;D ;D
  24. Whew....that was a very touching article. Great move by the coach. My thoughts and prayers to this young man and his family for a complete recovery.
  25. It amazes me how often people talk about who throws the hardest, especially the kids playing. The hardest throwers on our team had the least results. There is quite a bit more to quality pitching than velocity. Just my 2 cents. ;D Good luck to all of the pitchers throwing in this game.
