Are League Board Members Tearing NNLL Apart?
thedogs1987 replied to RR8's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I still would like to know is it N L L or N N L L? (Nederland Little League or Nederland North Little League) -
Nederland's next three classes have some high calibar talent. Size is there, too. Interesting to see where some of them take it. Hard working group. Tons of talent. Couron, Stampley, Wood and many others....

I wonder how many posters on this topic Either.... pitched or have kids who pitch? Just a thought 8)

Are League Board Members Tearing NNLL Apart?

Isn't it NLL???? (or NNLL as on the thread) Did I miss something? :) 2 things Little League has taught me: 1. Everybody is always right. 2. Refer to Rule 1 if in doubt. -
Best Restruants in the area

NYPP on Neches is #1. (New York Pizza and Pasta) -
Nederland has one of the best ballparks in the area. Get spoiled to being protected from foul balls, not having to walk thru mud to get to stands. Great concessions!!! Agreed, wish we could fire up the home stands more often....

Watched this video on tv. Great information about sport's head injuries. Good to know that our programs here have trainers on site and emergency personnel close to our facilities. ] -

I don't know about HJ. Nederland has only sophomores, JV, V teams. Most of sophomore team is freshman, however. Most of our teams in our district are the same. However, when we play BC, we might face Varsity players pitching to our freshman. Still scratching my head on those games. Don't mind our little guys seeing the heat early in their hs career. -
I happen to know the kid and like the kid. He is a tremendous talent. He will not be playing baseball so he can concentrate on basketball. I was just bringing a little humor to the subject. So I really don't know what your point is dog1987.

I heard he is foregoing his last 2 years of high school and entering the NBA!
Good for you to acknowledge his talent. Sometimes you can't tell intent or tone on the board. Just seemed tacky to make a joke of a STAR Nederland athlete. You must not have a kid in any spotlight in a high school program. If you did, you might have a little more couth. 8)

BC Tourney... Ned JV won 5-2 vs PNG Ramoin pitched entire game for Big Ned. Great job! Ned Soph went down 7-1 to BC Thibeaux, Chandler on the mound for Ned Soph. -
Congrats to Ozen! Good Luck Great Season to the Dogs!!! Things could have always turned out differently. Just proud 20-4A is represented. Co-worker from Ozen who went to game last night had such positive things to say about #21 on our team and how amazing he was. I thought that was really nice! Both teams have a lot to build on, and the main thing is to represent your community with your best!!! Note to Message Board: Remember these are kids that are playing on the court. No kid gets paid to give you something to talk about on this board. Instead they make sacrifices, work hard, make the grades and perform to a high level. Be proud of what all of these kids accomplish and stop trying to tear the communities apart. It's harder to build things up. Anyone can tear things down.

Highsmith link=topic=96718.msg1187254#msg1187254 date=1330404850] Because there is no way he would start in the field. Hf's infield is loaded. And the outfielders are all a great combination when the right people are out there
I would think Walker could make HF varsity pretty easily. He has been with the PNG varsity and thats a night and day comparison.
It wasn't just a baseball move, but a football move as well. I don't know why yall would think a kid would reflect hf's program anyways. Like already stated he would have more than likely made varsity but would have never got much of an opportunity to play. He would have pitched, but that may have been all. He is really good and will be very good as he matures in png.

Ky is a great player and a great kid. He and a couple of other freshmen could have helped HF's team, but instead of embracing and aceepting them, they would rather discredit and alienate any player who may take away from their playing time. This is the nature of HF boys athletics and that is why they continue to struggle year after year and the good athletes go to other schools.
Ky is the ONLY freshman that would have made the Longhorn Varsity this year if he would have stayed. Right now they are playing pretty well, and getting the basketball kids will only help them. We all know how Ky is doing at PNG but have yet to hear about these other "good" athletes...how is Cam doing at Vidor, what team is he on?
Get ready for the here and now...not the future. [s]Recruiting[/s], more like suggestions to come play for "us" in high school athletics. You got an ace whose a freshman and there is room for him to improve and play on his current school's squad. (Sometimes you're blocked out of playing time by the friends and family plan, no matter how GREAT you are). Why shouldn't the parents take the best opporuntiy for their child? The same old politics in an athletic program creates Losing teams. Best kids should play no matter what. It's all over in high school athletics. Hush! Hush! But it's here and will continue to grow. Can't blame parents for doing the best for their student athlete. Another school in our district has been picking our pockets and it seems to be working fine for them. This is just what I am hearing and seeing....Not necessarily my thoughts. Just an observation. -

I see Nederland fans walking out in the 4th qtr as predicted.
Bright side is they do not have far to drive.
You didn't have far to drive to watch your team play, did ya?

Wonderful way to start out the season. Going to be a difficult tourney in Brenham.
No, doubt.... Brenham- reigning champs of the region for the last 3 years & currently holds the record for most state titles, with 7. #7 Houston Lamar- a large 5A school, that is #7 in the state. Lamar has won this tourney for the last 3 years. LCM- Always a threat, and a perrinial power year & year out. Sounds like the Bears are off to a great start. #3 Santa Fe- they enter the tourney as the #3 team in the state. They took us to game 3 last year in the 4th round. Lufkin- Don't know much about them, other than they are 5A. If that's not enough, on the other side of the bracket, there is #3 The Woodlands, Montgomery, Texas City, Bryan and Bryan Rudder. Should be a great tournament!
Bears will be tough this year. Great showing this weekend.
