1. After careful analysis and a little *homeboy* research, sorry to say (for HJ fans) HJ will not win tonite. Not that I am saying I want HJ to lose. But here are my reasons why HJ will probably lose tonite: A. HJ has not had a close game all year. Are they really that good or as some suspect, a light schedule to rest those track weary legs. Will HJ go into panic mode when this game is close? B. Silsbee has been in the trenches all year long. Knows how to play in tight games. Has played in several big games already this year. Silsbee wins this one tonite. ;)
 2. But you have to admit, its an outlet for athletic purposes as well ;)
 3. Barbers Hill maybe would benefit from this?
 4. I'm very impressed with the Silsbee coach. Looks like he knows a little something about basketball.
::) OOPS. I'd be off topic if I mentioned about the article I read yesterday about the companies hiring in the coming months, but I'd be off topic if I brought this up in a sports forum because the powers that be would be upset because Nash started it but I would get the blame for his comments and I would feel terrible getting the blame for this especially when we all know Nash is always changing subject matter but let me get back on topic because I allowed Nash to get me off track and I know this is not the right thing to do so Nash I will not fall for it..whew! Sorry!

 9. Due to a previous sporting engagement, I must respectfully decline the offer of hospitality from my HJ round-ball  brothers.  :(

Trying watching Princeton or Duke instead.
Central has had lots of good teams in the past.  Are you saying the kids that go there now are somehow different than in the past?
Central teams in the past have been good.  Within the last 8 or 9 years, Central went through a spell where we would get good players, but they are small.  Only about 3 years ago, we started getting good players with good size.  I think that the kids are not different.  They have about the same skill set, but our coaching is always holding us back from our true potential.  Also, the other teams have became a lot better.  With Coach English comming into his own, it is safe to say that he may have replaced Coach Boutte as being THE premier coach.
I agree that Coach English is one of the very elite coaches in SE Texas, but lets not forget about Coach Sutherland!!!!! ;) ;) ;)
oh gawd! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) :D

He happen to mention in the conversation Nederland beat Humble last year in playoffs. Would Nederland face an opponent in the same district as Humble this year?
The 1st round game for all 20-4A teams will be against a team from the district that consists of BH, Crosby, GCM, CEKing. Ned beat Humble last year in the 3rd round by 1 or 2 points. That is the same round that Kingwood Park beat Ozen to make it to the regional tourney. Will prob be the 3rd round again before our district plays theirs.
Thanks my blue-eyed soul brother ;D

 16. Just heard a rumor that Dickie Vitale was in attendance at the game. Why wasn't his picture taken with Aggie?
 17. I'm seeing more high school players from this area wanting to "get under the radar." Bouttee said it best, "you have to have the skills first" ( and/or the potential) and then an arena to show it off.

Mitchell and K. Smith) to be in the best positions to do damage on set plays.  Smith is a good 3 point shooter.  Get him an open 3 point look off an off the ball screen. If they play it too tight, he'll drive in and finish at the cup.    Get Mitchell a good look off a quick curl for a midrange jumper.  If they overpersue, he can also finish at the cup in traffic.  If we want to beat Nederland in the second meeting and make a nice playoff run, these are things that we need to work on for the next few weeks, IMO.
As a Nederland graduate from 20 or so years ago, it still shocks me what Brian English has done here.  I never thought I would see the day when Central would be talking about being able to compete with Nederland and hopefully beating them in the next game.  Huge reversal of fortune.
Yes.  True.  He did it at Vidor and he is doing it here.  I gave you guys heck the last 2 years stating that the players are good as you have the Cunningham, Forney, Smith 3 headed monster.  Now, this team is getting it done by better coaching since this team isn't near as talented as last year's team.  English have had my respect for several years now.
Soulja do u even no where coach English play college ball @
I realize this is not relevant to this topic, but FYI, he played at Lee College in Baytown and at Wharton County JC. Then he tried out at aTm. He made it to the final cut of 4 or 5, and they only selected one person to make the team.
I've seen some of the best players play in JUCO.

 20. Actually  I've been impressed with all the coaches I've seen in this district. I actually knew more about English's coaching style than any other because we would see his teams participating in Houston. Central is going to be loaded with talent next year. I personally don't think they will go far this year in playoffs. Too young and maybe a lack of leadership on that team
 21. Lets see, how does that notable quote from a very notable and worthy author goes: Winning makes you forget about losers da Dove ;D
