Didn't hear that comment, but I do know that Ozen came to play last night. Ozen had that 'swagger' early with those first 5 pts, then lead 8-2! Ozen was pumped, and I got concerned real quick. Ozen is much better than some give credit. It says a lot that Central is 3-0 against them this year, and remember rhey took Silsbee to OT earlier this yr too. Anyond who says they are not good has prob not seen them play this year. I hate to go this route, but the coaching (esp at the end) was not very good last night. They are just as talented as Central, IMO.
NB-Dawg, I see some real battles between Ozen, Central & Nederland the next few years. Its gonna be nasty. Jaguar and Bulldog T/O's all over the place ;D

C'mon guys! You should have put Nash, LAZEEK, &  POPPA in the game. There is just no excuse >:(
If the other team is incapable of scoring (aka 2nd quarter) are you supposed to just hold the ball for an entire half?
And half of the quarter was spent with the 2nd team in.
::) ::)

 5.
I spoke with Coach English about that Royal team. He stated they were big and used their size very well. But he also followed up with the statement that he thought HJ and Silsbee would beat them if they met in the playoffs. HJ and Silsbee would cause Royal problems with their pressure and speed.
All about the match ups
 6.
Told y'all they were legit when they beat Ned by one last month.
::) Oh Gawd!!!

Final: Ned JV 70 Ozen JV 59 Both teams played very hard throughout. Varsity begins in 15 min this match up is going to be a good one for years

I was surprised to see the intensity level at this level (JV) . Nederland loves it basketball

 11. Whoa! Dayton has that size *THIS YEAR* Better get it together now. ;)
 12. Thanks Nash, you saved me some time and effort. You're having a *leftist* moment ;D

I get on SETX.com for tips like cutting a 5 gallon bucket and nailing it to a pole....
dont know if ur bein serious or pokin fun.....but when u grow up and thats all u have....i made do....and it came to be an advantage for me later on.  please try it and see how frustrated you get.....and if you have a youngin have them start shooting on it....it will help in the long run
I can't think of that darn contraption they have now, but its like a bucket lid that covers a regular goal. Makes you focus on your shot, trust me ;)
 14.
i guess litle doves will be shoping around to nederland next year, grass is always greener
I'm looking in the phone book now for the number ;)
 15.
They actually deserve to talk.  They are about to make it through the first half of district undefeated.  That is something to toot your horn about.  Hopefully, they don't do the same thing in the second half.  8)
True dat! Makes it sweeter ;)
 16.
Someone on the Ozen Nederland prediction thread said Ozen JV could beat Ozen varsity. I don't think so....Nederland JV won by 11  :D Bulldogs........what can you say, they just keep winning. Another one bites the dust!!!!! Now 25 and 0 in the last 25 district games.
Yep! Keep on talking! Just keep on talking! ;)
 17.
That is usually expected following a big win like last week.  It is a big statement that they still found a way to win against arguably the 3rd best team in district on the road.
Here is a man that knows the mental side of sports. Good observation.
Actually, that #11 could not miss anything last night, except for free throws :D The Ozen JV was off sync last night and the varsity is really showing some team effort the last few games. We just gotta move on and wait for the rematch.
 19.
Dove-Where you at? Finally got to watch Ur boys play, and I wasn't disappointed. What are Ur thoughts on tonight's games? You buying stock in Nederland yet?  ;)
Wasn't surprised at all. Like I've said the past 3 years, been seeing and talking with English on the LD and summer circuit outside of S.E.Texas.  He's connected into the basketball community and has been in the process for making his kids better. Its showing hard work pays off. But it ain't over for these rematches. ;)
 20. I need to start charging a fer for my pre-game predictions.
 21.

Well, let's step back here.  By a rough count and even rougher geography, there were 23 games in the, for lack of better phrase, Beaumont area.  Looking at the posts here, there were only complaints about capacity being an issue at 1, yes only 1, of those games.  And if I may be so bold, despite the many great matchups and rivalry games that are yet to be played, it is likely that the only issue regarding capacity will recur when the two teams that played in that lone game play again on January 31st. I also find it interesting that the Merrill Center was brought up for as most of you know, I live in the Katy ISD.  I am still waiting for when the "profits" of the Merrill Center, which has hosted consecutive Southland Conference tournaments, countless predistrict tournaments, UIL regionals and is even host to a professional (well, sort of) indoor football team, to provide me relief on my Katy ISD property taxes.  I paid those last week and it certainly didn't come this year.
Amen to that Grad,  I just built a house in Katy ISD.  And no, I don't have a child in the district yet.  That will be next year.
Thats what you guys get for moving to Katy. 40 years ago You could have bought a nice piece of land, no neighbors, and one school with one heck of a football team.
Good thought.  However under the laws of the State of Texas, I would not have been able to enter into any valid contract for purchase of property.....I was 3 years old then.
You should take that up with your parents. Better planning ;)
 22.
And, maybe then, the most valuable player on one team such as HF is actually better than the best player on HJ or Silsbee?
Equal Opportunity ;)
;D oh! oh! Getting interesting.
Would be a huge upset against the 2 time defending champs on their home floor! Not so fast Soulja!  ;D Ozen fans don't travel well, and the Nederland fans will be in full force! Coach E will have his kids ready for another big game. Good teams bring out the best in them!
True, Ozen will not bring as many fans as we did, but Ozen will be ready to go.  Actually, I was considering going.  (one of the players invited me  8) 8) ).  I have the same feeling about this game as I did about Silsbee taking down H-J.
I guess I'll be the only Ozen fan there in the stands.
If it's like last year, you might be. I'm not joking when I say there were probably 40 Ozen fans last year, and half of them were the JV team.
Man; thats wrong :D
