Somewhere in all the smoke blowing and general BS, seems as though some of the thin skinned folk, seem to think someone questioned the "heart" of the Vidor Boys. Not sure where that came from but whatever, I guess you must really think your boys are the only team in the Region with "heart". Well I got news for you, Vidor doesn't hold sole posession of "heart" in this equation. But it takes more than just heart, heart will only take you so far. Been watching to many "Rudy" re-runs there Sparky. We'll see who has what it takes come next Friday. Prove me wrong, please do, and I will be the first to admit it.

    And a few pages back someone asked who I am....well partner, I'm the guy that is easiest in the world to find, because i don't hide on a keyboard behind some fake name, use your google skills amigo, I'm easy to find out about. My youngest is a Senior on this team, and I work with most of these boys very closely, on and off the field. I played the game for many years at all levels, and have the knee surgeries to go along with it. I love the game, and the kids that come out to play it. I teach them to play the game hard, safe, and clean. May the best team win, because no matter the excuses, the best team wins on any given night. Turnovers, injuries, brain farts, whatever, it's all inclusive and reflected on the scoreboard when the clock runs out.

    Good Luck come Friday......

    You really don't know much about this team do you Mark? Vidor was picked to finished 7th in there district. They finished tied for second. They were picked to lose 8 out of there 10 games. They won 8 out of there 11 games. They were picked to lose when they played Crosby by 14+ points. They won by 20+ points. Every singe week this team has proved everyone that has doubted them wrong. On October 16th they lost there best friend, brother, teammate, and friend and have dedicated this season to him. This Vidor team does not quit. EVER! Its just not in there vocabulary. They don't comprehend the word. I can guarantee you that there is no team in the state that puts as much heart on thursday/friday/saturday nights as the Vidor Pirates.

    Something that hasnt been mentioned much is Vidors pass defense. Havent seen them in their later games, but against Nederland they blanketed our receivers... Could be the difference

    I agree. Our secondary is amazing in there pass defense. We haven't been the best in the district but we have held all the big passing teams to under what they usually get passing wise.

    I agree with you. Time of possession is probably the most underated stat in all of football. It's a pretty simple concept help you're D out by simply keeping the other teams O off the field. However you don't have to be a running base O to control the clock, you can accomplish the same thing with short high percentage passes to move the ball. The problem with Vidors style of O is if the ever do get down by a decent margin early, it is nearly impossible to come back. Other than that it is a very effective offence that doesn't require outstanding talent, just great execution.

    Personaly my favorite O is the pistol. It is very versatile, you can be a power team, you can be a spread team, you can run counters,  options, play action, and pretty much everything else. It's the best of both worlds. It provides the ability to have a vertical running game in between the tackles, instead of the side to side perimeter running game used in the traditional spread. Then it is easier to pass out of then going under center. I belive you will see this offence a lot more in the future at all levels of football. There are simply very few drawbacks to this offence.

    I'm not so sure about that. We were down 22 to zip in PNG and we almost came back and beat em. Scoring 14 points in like 4 or 5 minutes. And we also scored pretty fast in the Livingston game. IMO that's what special about Vidor's team this year is even though we run a grind it out smash mouth offensive scheme we have the ability to score and score quickly if we have to.

    Next year we need to let 19-4A play the teams from 20-4A who DIDNT make the playoffs.

    We can have our own little 19-4A toilet bowl.

    It can be played out in a cow pasture in Fannett.
And still, there is one 19-4A team that proves to be too much for any 20-4A team over and over and over.....

    #16 is the second fastest guy on the team. second only to #2 our runningback
::) ::) ::)
btw thats coming from the mouth of 16 himself  ::)  8)
My point was #2 is a very good player and his play on the field speaks for itself....He does not need you on here reminding everyone how good he is all the time..You did notice I gave the whole secondary props...Its a team sport my friend.
Look what my post started with. Calm down there buddy. I wasn't saying that #16 or #2 do it all by there selves.

    no way...Five Guys Burgers and Fries is better! I'd even put Dippity's in Lumberton in front of Depot...you'll have to leave this SETX bubble though to eat at 5 guys, large cities only.

    I may receive some bad karma for this but IMO there is no place in the US that has burgers like the IN and OUT burgers out on the west coast. And that's the truth.
