Honestly the difference maker for Vidor to win will be eliminating the big play. Because it is hard to say if y'all will stop the passing game. Because most of our pass plays will be screens, bubble screens, and rollouts etc. But this game will come down to turnovers. I know everybody says the team with the least amount of turnovers wins the game. But I believe this game will come down to turnovers.
and penalties. And really? 24? we haven't been held to 24 or less since we played PNG and our offense wasn't completely healthy. We scored 42 points on Montgomery who was known for there defense.
Yes because I see a bunch of long drives by both teams that are going to eat up a lot of time. This game is going to go down to the final minutes of the game.
You know you may have a point there. I didn't think of that. If yall run your ball control offense then it may be a low scoring game.
oops. And penalties.
True. Penalties can always kill a drive.
Or continue one. Recall some pass interfereces against Mont on 4th down desperation plays that allowed them to keep the ball.

 5.
Some highlights from the Wheatley game. [Hidden Content]]
Apparently, Wheatley isn't very good at all. They cant seem to tackle in the open field or cover the pass. As far as that int, nothing special about it, ball was pretty much thrown right to him.
 6. You guys are terrible.Isn't it obvious that she used her brains to get into this POSITION.
 7. UhOh! Massey changed his mind again. Vidor-35 / Dawson-34 OOPS!!! Ran the wrong school. But hey, they still got Vidor picked in this one and that matchup is possible. Still 34-38 Angleton.
 8.
No, it was just a joke. Man, you Vidor fans act like you all have never been this deep in the playoffs before. Oh wait, you haven't.  ;D LOL
Just out of curiosity, how long has Dawson been a school?
 9.
Cool.  That's about what I was expecting....Thanks!
They are selling them at the Vidor field house until 3 today. $8 for adults/$5 for students.

and even then he was heads above the kids around him.... he was fast, elusive, and very agile... if you blinked... he was gone.... from what I was told then he was in the top 3 fastest 10 yos in the state.... don't know if that was true... but he was pretty dang fast!!! Good luck Tony!!
I was think this was the same kid, just didn't remember his name. Heard the same thing about his speed as a 10 yo.

Manvel's the giant here and they've obviously not been sleeping. You can't even pretend to be the underdog here. Some fans trying to justify how their team will win is just that. There are posts all over this thread of how well Dayton will have to play to pull this one off. Oh well, keep stirring and maybe you'll get some bulletin board material for your kid. Not that they should need any motivation.
Yep! Last I checked, Manvel is the favorite state wide. But like I said, dont't be too surprised if it doesn't work out for you. Ask Brenham? Anything can happen.
 14. Manvel, Manvel, Manvel. Everyone has to lose sometimes. Seen Dayton play and you. Dont be too surprised if you feel a stampede coming. Should be a great game. Dayton 38 Manvel 35. Gotta go with that kicker!

As far as our defense is concerned, if Vidor tries to pass the ball, angleton will likely either turn it into negative yds by getting to thier QB and taking him down, (they have some 'speed' along with power on thier D too) or causing him to have to get rid of the ball sooner than he would like, which for the last twelve games has resulted in easy takeaways (and points on the board) for the cats. If your QB DOES decide to throw the ball, he'd better be able to do it very quickly. Even even if he gets the ball where he wants it, the odds are high that it's gonna get either knocked down or intercepted because our guys are normally really good at being wherever the ball is going before it ever gets there. Also contrary to what some believe, the cats play smashmouth ball. They can, and will hit you hard and often, which as we all know often results in a loss of (the opposing teams) ball control...It will be a darn good game for sure! Oh.. BTW, went to the field house to get my tickets today. :) Was talking with the woman in the booth and she said some of your (Vidor) guys recently came down, snuck in, 8) and put thier flag up the AHS flagpole! Thats a long @$$ drive just for that! Good One! It's all in good fun! ;D
That flag was lowered to half mast for practice!
LOL!! Yeah, I heard they were talking about neatly folding it, and then giving it back to the Pirates after the game is over. (once we've won, of course!) BOOM! ;D
Question is, will they give it back after they lose?
Good question lol.
I think they will keep it and hang it in the locker room as a reminder of the colors a real football team wears.
Or maybe they'll exchange it. A Pirate flag for defense lessons.  8)
LMAO!!! ;D ;D ;D

Lets just PRAY that we have officials that know what the heck they are doing! I've seen a lot of BAAAD calls this season - some against, some in our favor....Hopefully, every call this week will be a correct one. GO CATS, GO! Lets sink the Pirate's ship! Vidor fans; don't forget your life vests! LOL!  :D
You hit that nail on the head. 20-4A has seen some real bad officiating and it relates more to no calls because the refs are too busy watching the game and not their assigned area. I actually saw a ref talking to a coach on the sideline this year during a play. Result-missed holding call-TD IN OUR FAVOR.

I'm sorry Vidor, but that is a long drive(through Houston no doubt) just to hang a flag. But, at least it was a clean act. When I played, our rivals vandalized the press box and burnt their school name at the 50 yrd line with diesel and then lit it.
