2. Buna takes this one. I don't think it will be a shootout like last year. Buna 50 Hemphill 21
3. 1. Newton 2. East Chambers 3. Kirbyville 4. Kountze 5. Woodville 6. Anahuac 7. Warren 8. Hardin I'm giving Newton the edge over East Chambers by defense. Kirbyville showed signs of hope against Jasper in the first half.  Good Luck to all teams.
4. Great job Warren. Good luck. Keep fighting Burkeville. Good luck.
5. Great job eagles. Congrats on the win. Good luck this year Orangefield.
6. Good luck to both teams. Praying for no injuries. Take it to em' Eagles!
7. I'm going with the Pirates in this one. Should be a good game though. Pirates 24 - Wolves 21

9.
There reason that games are played because on any given night ANY team can be beat!!!  So to say cakewalk, in this district especially, is a little uninformed.  JMO
I agree, two big wins for Newton doesn't spell cakewalk. No reason to look ahead. One game at a time. Go Eagles!
10. Newton is doing great, I just hope we dont look past OF. If you look past a team with ball control like that you may find yourself looking from behind them. Keep the focus up Eagles!
11. What happened to Fitzwater? He wasn't even listed on the program @ the Newton game.
12. If I'm looking at the stats right OF had almost 400 yards rushing against East Chambers. Is that right?
13. Newton is on a roll with two big wins and even though Orangefield lost to Jasper they gave East Chambers a good game. Newton 35 - Orangefield 17
14. I'm liking what I'm seeing. Offense is playing strong and Defense is strong.
15. Congrats on the win Jasper. Keep it rolling!
16. Great win Eagles looking better and better each week. Good luck with the rest of the season Liberty. I  hope the players that Sat out get better soon.
17. Good luck to both teams. Pray for an injury free game. Safe travels everyone.

19. App works great on my Android. Thanks for the new relationship with Legacy. Shift work doesn't always favor the friday night lights.
20. I would love to see this game come back, especially now that Darrell Barbay is coaching over there. Fans need to be able to control themselves though.
21. Friday is here! Do what you do best Eagles get that win.
22. Going with Jasper in this one. Looking forward to reading some stats for our game with Liberty next week.
23.
The Newton Eagles are not favored to win district 10-2a , putting them in a familiar role. The small school underdog,  Newton has never been known to be favored by the golden triangle area well. So this is no surprise to see Newton picked to get second place in District. Hopefully with the addition of all the big sophomores and The skill postitions players that looked to be primed this year Newton will run there district and bring themselves back to the dirty bird swag era that they had between 96-06. I think the biggest question for all that support Newton will be can they win the big game. Dates could be off a little correct me if im wrong 07 lost to eventual champ Tatum .08 lost to Dangerfield eventual state champ. 09 same thing .lost to Dangerfield eventual state champ. 10 lost Barbay , lost to EC and lost to eventual state finailst Cameron yoe 11 lost to Ec lost to Crockett,  most of these loses were decided by 14 points or less except Cam and Newton gave away the lead in all of those games except Cameron yoe. This team has the talent to go all the way , the question is do they have the HEART.
I'm ok with us being favored by some to come in 2nd in district. East Chambers beat us last year, even though it was tough to watch they got the W. Also they had a better scrimmage against Silsbee than we did, so their is a few reasons for some to give the nod to E.C.. I understand, we just have to get the district title back in Newton this year and until then E.C. has the right to be favored, even though I don't like it any more than any other Newton fan! Can't argue with the numbers. Go Eagles!
