  1. Amen. I watched Hull Daisetta and Warren earlier in the season. I didn’t think either club would win a district game. I think injuries hurt the Raiders not sure about the Cardinals
  2. I think the biggest miss was Shepherd. They have just been down this year
  3. Livingston is dangerous if the 3 is falling, if not they get average quick
  4. The down side of that is 3 of those 5 were against Shepherd and Liberty. I think they’ll beat Splendora as well though
  5. Livingston’s weakness looks to be getting the ball up against the press. The depth in that gym is definitely on their side. It takes a little time for a visiting team to adjust especially if they shoot a lot of 3’s. Should be a good game.
  6. I don’t know if I’d call running up the score on a really bad Shepherd club jelling. I think HF should win this last district game but it could easily be a trap game on the road against Splendora. HJ is going to have a very similar situation traveling to Livingston on Tuesday. Depending on the outcomes of these games the seeding games could be really interesting.
  7. I’m not in favor of the stall but a guy named Dean Smith invented it and rode it into the Hall of Fame. He had a pretty good player or two. I think the spread has a place in today’s game. I can think of several ways to attack this circle the wagon offense but they would probably go viral also 😂
  8. Actually Huntington got 2 players back from injury and won the second game by 5. They went on a little run and won 6 out of their last 7.They had lost to Woodville by 37 in a tournament earlier in the year. Woodville ended up as runner up in the district and Huntington tied for 4th.
  9. I believe Woodville was highly ranked in the first game. The spread was was implemented by coach Hand I believe because of the youth of his club. Not coming out to contest the ball was a huge mistake on the Woodville coaches part. It was not something he did to keep his team close. If you talk with Leland tell him I said hello. I haven’t talked to him since last week
  10. I think you need to research this game a little further.
  11. You better believe this site would have blistered the Woodville coach and rightfully so. The Huntington team was comprised of Sophomores that were not in the same class as Woodville. Huntington spread the floor and held the ball Woodville chose not to come out and force the action. Big Mistake but completely different strategy.
  12. The district is extremely close but it looks like all the teams are down from their glory years. I don’t know if we’ll see a deep playoff run from this district this year
  13. They had a young coach a few years ago that had a set of young twins who made them formidable. He would have turned the program around if he’d stayed but I think he left after one season. His kids were probably 3 or 4 years old and loved to play after the games were over. They made several questionable hires after that.
  14. It will be a good ballgame. Livingston has some kids that can get hot from behind the arc and make up for some ball handling deficiencies. The gym up there is nice but can give visitors fits if they aren’t used to shooting in it. If HJ wins this one it will be on the strength of their defense.
  15. I didn’t see them or Huffman losing 4 games. Livingston has been the dark horse for me. I didn’t see them in the hunt and they could finish 2nd
  16. I’ve heard all this before. I’m not the one you needed to convince.
  17. I don’t think anyone gets happy about HF taking a loss. I do wish some posters would acknowledge they aren’t as dominant as some predicted. The district is better when they are relevant. I gotta admit I thought they would lose 2 district games and be in a seeding game. I didn’t think they’d lose 4.
  18. I don’t remember seeing many sit a year at HJ . I do know in the last few years Parquet, Carpenter and Aktar have all left HJ and went to Beaumont. Not sure how many went to HF and had to sit a year but I know of 2. And not all the top guys from SETX train at HJ. There are some good ones that do though. I don’t blame them, Coach Sneed is a good one.
  19. Here’s my 😳 face 😂. Not really, I was expecting this one.
  20. I have only saw this once in my lifetime and it was at a little dribblers tournament many years ago.
  21. No sir I gotta disagree. I saw this coming from a mile away. I told ya they had some kids coming off a 20-1 JV club who would contribute big time. Isiah was one of the kids I was referring to. My biggest miss on this club was White. He didn’t return and would have been a difference maker big time for this club. Samaha has really developed also in his sophomore season. Looks like the Hawks will finish district exactly where I had em penciled in. Maybe there is something to tradition and maybe the Coach is a little better than he was given credit for??
