Warren is a different club from the last 2 years but I wouldn't say they are down.Defensively they are light years ahead of where they were last year.While they don't have the marquis running back they had last year they are taking better care of the ball.In the season opener they moved the ball on the ground with Blackshear and Parker.I think we will see more of that as the season goes on.There are still some questions in the kicking game(as there were last year).The stat you can't argue with is this club is 2-0 against the same clubs as the last 2 years.I think both those team were 1-1against Huntington and WH.Woodville and Warren went to overtime last year and I would expect the same kind of game this year.This is a toss up but I'm goin with the home team. I don't think anyone knows who will make the playoffs in 24aa.There are some much improved teams from last year.I don't think Deweyville will be challenged until district starts and in my opinion thats not good for a playoff caliber club.They should have a good club this year but they didn't exactly manhandle the district last year.Not sure where all there district games are this year but things are going to be interesting this year for all the clubs on the road in 24aa.Good luck to the pirates and all the rest of the 24aa teams.

I don't think anyone has forgotten about Hardin,they will also be capable of beating anyone on any given night.Marsh is the real deal and Nolan will help but they will miss the little guard that graduated tremendously.

Thomas is solid as a dollar but he is gonna miss the outside presence of Guillory and the defensive help of Leday.Kountze will be very good but nowhere close to where they were last year after graduating 4 players who went on to college to play.Warren returns almost everyone off a pretty good club.Any one of these 3 clubs will be capable of beating the other on any given night.Should be fun for the fans this season.

They will be pretty good this year.They were young last year and will continue to improve.I think the have a legitimate shot at winning that district this year.Woden and Woodville both graduated key players.I look for a battle for the top spot from Newton and Corrigan ,just like the football district.

4 of these schools are in 24aa now so I'm not sure I understand the question.If they were in the same district now HJ would win it followed by Kountze.The rest of the district wouldn't be that strong.Hardin would probably get the 3rd spot.

Thats how people with speed beat you.They make big plays.Thomas is like a time bomb,sooner or later he will break one.This should be a really good game but I like the Bucs in a close one.

No disrespect to Deweyville but how good is Vinton?I don't think anyone around here knows much about to them.Deweyville benefited from playing this type schedule until they got there program turned around but now it will probably hurt them in the long run.Last years team strength was the run with Williams.I don't think they have that caliber offensive threat this year so this club is gonna have to play better defense this year.If they do that they will be in the hunt,if not the district schedule will be brutal.Looks like Buna,EC,Hardin,Kountze and Anahuac are all gonna score lots of points.Warren is in the same boat as Deweyville as fars as losing a top notch running back,fortunately there defense seems to be way ahead of where it was last year.This district is gonna be awful fun to watch.

This is an established ,experienced program vs one that is trying to learn to win again.While HF will gain a little from the home field EC will win the ball game.I'm not sure I buy the one man arguement but when he has the ball in his hands he is definitely special.EC by 10 because of their team speed.

I didn't see Montana friday night.I think he was scheduled for an MRI late friday evening.Still having problems with his knee.Warren does have a lot of 2 way starters but thats not unusual in a 2a school,the better atheletes stay on the field.They have been able to sub some though and give some key players a breather which I think was the difference friday night.I don't think Warren had any JV kids dressed out friday,if they did it would have been some that didn't play thursday.WH is going thru a little bit of a down year after a very good senior class graduated(happens all the time).They will be fine when they start playing teams there own size.They are physical enough to give most teams in there district fits.

I think they miss their running back a lot more than they thought they would.One thing is for sure Buna is playing well,EC is gonna be right there again and Hardin and Kountze are much improved.This is gonna be interesting.

As quick as he is to the ball it could be ;)Just kiddin ,they are a good group and he makes it impossible if you put any air under it.

Warren didn't target 1 CB.They started throwing on #7 with a short route,after several completions the WH coaching staff moved Copeland to that side.He looks to me to be their best corner.Mc Bee made 2 perfect throws and Nash made the receptions,not much a DB can do about that.WH will be OK ,Their predistrict schedule will help them once district rolls around.After seeing them last night I think them and HD will be a toss up.I don't see them having the depth to beat Hardin,it will be close early but the Hornets will wear them down.

Kountze had a pretty good club last year they were just real young.They will be competeive this year but probably not a contender in a pretty good district.Lining up against EC and Buna will be alot tougher than Tenaha and HD.Glad to see the Lions doing well though .Congrats.

24aa is gonna be fun to watch this year.Thru week 1 the district is 13-1 I think.Buna wins this one if they don't overlook the Horns after this weeks easy win.

I was surprised at the Oilers numbers,looked to be way down from last year.Not a lot of adjustments a coach can make when he doesn't have but 4 reserves.They will have to eliminate the turnovers to be successful.Warren will have to step up the running game if they are gonna be successful in the district race.The Warriors defense is ahead of where it was last year at this time.Basically this was a repeat of last years game,a close hard fought game with the home team winning.Warren's inability to make an extra point last year cost them the ballgame.Luckily this year it didn't come down to that but we still are struggling with the PAT.Good luck to both clubs the rest of the year.Go Warriors

This one of those rivalry games so it may be closer than it should be.Hardin wins this one though by 12.

Looks like 24aa is better top to bottom this year.Congrats Panthers.

Huey has played 2 great games in a row.The defense is playing preety good football now.

Depth was the difference here .WH only had 4 kids on the sideline and just wore down.Warren has some solid receivers.The WH coaches made some defensive adjustments in the secondary sliding Copeland over on Nash ,Warren just had 2 perfectly thrown balls and 2 nice catches.WH will do fine when they cut the turnovers down.Nice effort by the Warren defense,both Oiler scores came a Warren fumble and a miss handled snap.Both teams played hard.The home field team won this one.

Travis McBee scored for Warren first on short run,PAT failed.West Hardin scored on a 70 yard fumble recovery and run for a TD.PAT failed.WH scored on a short drive after a missed handled punt snap by Warren,PAT was good WH lead 14-6.Warrens last 2 scores came on long passes from McBee to Nash.2 point conversion was good to make the final 20-14.Overall good ballgame.WH had several intercepted passes and Warren had several fumbles.Overall a good ballgame,Warren had a little more depth that was the difference.

The shooters and scorers get all the press but the defenders decide the games.Lets hear it, who are the top stoppers this year??If the game is on the line who would you want on your club?

The topic is plural.Trammel is the best linebacker in the district no doubt.I like Warrens as a group ,they are a solid unit.They are without a doubt the strength of Warrens team this year.

Neither team will resemble last years clubs.Warren turned the ball over 4 or 5 times last year inside the 10.They moved it almost at will.That being said they struggled to move it in there opener but the defense has looked good all year.WH lost 6 starters on the defensive side of the ball so they can't have the same D.I think the home team wins this one in a close game.
