LMAO okay so you must be one of the Monte Barrow posse that floats around Nederland. I have told who I was several times on here before. If you wanna know and talk feel free to DM little buddy. But Monte was not the best most qualified person for the job when he had years and years to obtain a masters degree but Nederland neglected and stooped down and hired Barrow which was a true coward move. If he had a Master Degree then his resume would had looked stronger and a better candidate. I have nothing personal against Monte, good guy but calls some of the biggest bone head plays that leaves everyone scratching their head. Two of Nederlands finest players in the late 90s would audible a lot. But besides the fact Nederland needs a change of scenery get with the times and they swung and missed and went with the safe route. I hope it works out great for Nederland but if 2 years under Monte is no playoffs then they need to be looking for someone different. Larry set the standard here with Monte being his assistant for numerous years and everyone talking about he learned from the best well it's his time now and his time to run the show. Monte might be for the "Bulldog way" and all about Nederland Athletics etc. But the past 25 years the Bulldog way is playoffs and championships.

Not at all Nederland youth programs are winning championships against other SETX programs just a lot of the talent moves out due to lack of schools falling apart right infront of the citizens eyes and majority of the people do not want to invest in the future.

I remember when the Nederland message board was still going strong and a post about Barrow was leaving to be a operator at a local plant but then got a raise and decided to stay as OC so who knows if this might be a stepping stone for him?

Nelson will turn those boys into great young men and students seen it first hand with coworker son. Fought to get him a scholarship and that's the number one thing in my book. Education is power in this world. Nelson is the best choice for Central.

I hope Ozen for their sake does go down to 4A Div 1 because they have the athletes to make a deep run. It will be interesting to see if Lumberton were to move down they very well could make a deep playoff run as well. They play hard just the numbers don't match up to the bigger schools in the district. I Doubt BH will move this way because the Hill has their "connections" Dayton yes I could see that happen again it's been done once before. I was told Memorial has a big 8th grade class this year that could bump them back to 6A if the numbers don't fall them to 5A again.

Memorial and Nederland. Nederland might be one of the smaller schools in the new D1 format if they fall in the catagory and I'm sure they will

I am curious as to where the official numbers will be in placing the schools in D1 and D2...

If they leave because they didn't get the coach they wanted is sad and selfish and wont learn anything in life. If a guy I didn't like became my boss I'm not going to quit my job I'm going to deal with it and continue to do my work just like these kids should do and parents teaching them the right way

And Ozen having 4A numbers... BISD needs to fix it where they have 3 even 5A schools or Close Ozen and have 2 big 6A schools IMO

Ozen is part of BISD that is a three high school district. So all the coaches in Beaumont did not have one including Stump a few years back and Flannigan and Foreman that just left. And all the other great coaches BISD has had.

Ducanville is 6A one school town and she is woman's bball head coach and AD they did pretty great this year too.

Simmons does have a masters degree he is also the grandson of of Dudley Metreyeon who the baseball field is named after.

The board did not want Larry gone. He left on his own personal terms.
