  1. Sad to see this happen. How many more years does he have on his contract? ??? Sounds like disgruntled parents are the only winners here. MB is a fine coach but most of all he is a very good teacher of life lessons and is the type of roll model kids at this level need as a coach. No matter who the new head coach turns out to be, he will still have the same group of spoiled parents placing blame for their perfect little son's lack of playing skills. : Face it PNG, until you annex some real football players into your district (over 150 lbs) ... you will not dominate in this area no matter who the parents think the coach should be.
  2. Was Jagneaux offered the job? Technically to turn it down, you must first be offered it. Didn't know if it got that far with him. Maybe the new athletic director has to answer to the group that is really calling the shots in BC. Parents & grandparents change every few years so are they also groomed through little league to run the show at the high school? Or is the entire town just 'kin' to each other? Just my two cents.........
  3. Eventually Jasper will have to play more than one game in a series if they want to get to state again. One game playoffs increase the chances of a weaker team continuing to the next level, only to be blown away by the team with stronger pitching. HJ has more pitching than Jasper right now.
  4. Don't take these posts so personally, dude. OLGabe is NOT a player, but he is a fairly good sports reporter that helps promote local high school sports in a positive way. He, along with the rest of us have no idea of the little "treat" you are referring to. I was by the dugout and did not hear anything. Let it go.
  5. The first baseman just missed it from where i could see or it was atleast close enough to knock down I was near visitor dugout and it looked to me like the first baseman just missed it, pitcher ran toward the bag and tossed it to him. Not a hard throw. Maybe runner got in his way, but he did make another error in that same inning if my feeble mind remembers correctly. Not not knocking the kid, just had a bad inning.
  6. Did buna get trumped? One of the main purposes of a warm up game is to play teams that challenge your abilities and push your limits in a practice simulation. Does that answer your question? ???
  7. WOW - The parents in the stands need to GROW UP! I can't believe the lady with the loud, obnoxious voice was not asked by her own fellow fans to please get a grip and finally shut her trap. Maybe that is why they played the music so loud! :-[ I've heard her for several years now and each season there is more trash spewing from her mouth. Look lady, using the term loosely, for your son(s) sake, try to dig deep inside and find a little class. You, in particular, are giving the entire Tribe a nasty reputation. ps- No, not a Vidorian here, but at the game because of the closely matched talent. One more note - other communities want to give Vidor a bad rap for being trashy??? No matter what side of the river you live on, white trash floats.
  8. Any updates on Jaylon's condition this morning?
  9. Before too many of you bash the catcher for not being mature or experienced enough, you should know he is only 14 yrs old. Why BC has no more catchers stepping up to the plate (so to say) is a mystery. I don't think anyone is trying to let "this one slide" but let's wait and see how Coach Bryant handles it before chopping off Stringer's pitching hand. Other than the incident in the top of the first inning, it was a well played game by both teams.
