  1. This is so unprovable on both sides...I will just inject one comment.....When Sophomore Matt Menard knocked a HR up at the Woodville field(when BC beat Jasper 10-5)  That 400+ slam was enough to convince me he will out-do anyone in 3A next season in the Catcher position.

An ole timer from Woodville said it was the longest hit ball over that fence that he had ever seen---and that he had watched games there for decades!   ;D
  2. This will be a strong District setting, as usual.  I predict that BC will make the top three, as most always.

They too will make another deep run: based on excellent scouting and coaching by Coaches Becca and Beth. BC teams don't peak till about seasons end; that's because of steady-at-the-helm developmental coaching.

They could have lost to a good Huffman team right-off-the-bat: but it was good scouting, excellent post-contest preparation that put the team into the contest poised and schooled to actuate an upset.
  3. It is interesting in all the teams in the 3A final four went UNDEFEATED in bracket play except Jasper--Bridge City defeated them 10-5 in the first game and the lost at the last of game 3 after leading 2-1 quite late and then were tied 2-2 till a late error was their downfall.  Matt Hicks showed he is All State material in his Pitching ability to take such a young team so deep in the bracket play.
  4. Good luck to Orangefield and Bridge City today......

Even if both teams lost the possible 2 games left for advancement to the final four; what a feat thus far.  When you look a the big 3A picture over 170  3A teams are finished for the year and yet two teams from the same District are still alive at this moment against premium clubs.

OF has racked the stacked Robinson team and BC has won over a proud Jasper team--can we hope for even more?  Yes, you both have full support from your playoff fans in Orange County.

Congrats for efforts so far and all our hopes lay in support of a sweep this evening!
  5. I was talking with some multi-sport girls from BC and they related they have been playing club and also just working out a lot.

They lost one good one setter last year but now have Halley Tally and also Hannah McAnelly ready to strengthen this good team.  Hannah(the Hammer) will drive it down your throat this next season.   LOL

Congrats to BC on their deep run last season--it took the Regional Champ to take you out.

Keep up the hard work preparing for Volleyball, it will pay dividends when the season rolls around.
  6. I am pulling for OF to win, also.  Robinson will be tough they also picked up Chad Hollingsworth this season that will be headed to pitch in North Carolina, as I understand it.  They have a new Coach with a new strategy.

Kudos to 21-3A this season, three teams going this far in the playoffs.  All folks in Orange County will be hoping that OF can prevail.  What was once a pipe-dream is quite close to reality---BC and OF slugging it out for the Region III Championship: we are both just one series away.

21-3A has premium foes but our teams are no slouches that are representing Orange County.

Best of luck to our Uth.
  7. That was a good video.  It is interesting that Matt Menard and Zach Smith or both Sophomores interviewed here.  What an unusually young team to be in the top 16 teams across TXs out of 180+ 3A teams.

On the other hand, most folks are familiar with four years of good bracket play from Hicks, Rhodes & Robinson; yet this bunch of Sophomores and Freshman have done really well accepting a yoemans role in carrying this hardball team quite deep again this season.  Congrats!
