  1. We were told that Ang Green was a unamious choice by all coaches.
  2. Before this thread gets out of hand let me just say a couple of things........ The All District Team is chosen from the Head Coaches of Each District. THey know these kids better than anyone (as far as attitude, work ethics, comrodary, etc.). They nominate the kids BUT, they are not allowed to vote for their kids. They choose the MVP's (based on votes) and then the rest is assigned by the number of votes they get. After the 1st and 2nd teams are chosen by the number of votes, the remainder is put on the Honorable Mention List.
  3. Didn't Coach Killam (who is now as Silsbee) coach at West Hardin for a couple of years? I remember how well the team did back then. I think that was around 2002-3
  4. I've been sitting and reading all these comments back and forth for days.....Let me just say this one thing. WOS DID NOT deserve to go to the regional play-offs, Silsbee did. And if the referees had called the game at Evadale like they called it at Huntsville, Silsbee would have won. Brittany Scotti is an awesome player, and one thing that makes her good is her abilities to drive into the basket and speed and handling the ball. But sometimes she makes NBA moves which are not allowed in High School UIL Rules. The referees at Hunstville saw that and when she made 2 quick charge calls and was called a couple of times for travelling she shut down. The refs there would good, they called a very fair game. She came on awesome scoring 20 points the first half, but when she started getting calls, she closed down and only finished the game with 24 points. As for Janae, she didn't even SCORE!
  5. Carol Sims does do a great job with what she has. Talent just seems to be a little weak this year. Coach Killam has been around the area for a long time. I remember when he coached the girls at Lumberton. They went from never winning a game to making playoffs for the first time in history. He was there for a long time and then went out to Central Texas for a few years. He is a very nice man with good Christian morals and standards. A great role model for these girls. He really knows his basketball too.
