PAM's new foosball district is cake....
WOSgrad replied to Austin1985's topic in High School Football
I think it would not be out of the question to call Memorial the prohibitive favorite in this district. -
I think the accurate WO-S predistrict slate is Wk 1 - Nederland, Wk 2 - LC-M, Wk 3 - Open, Wk 4 - Crosby Wk 5 - Bridge City Wk 6 - Jasper

Ex-Ozen star Tony Brown invited to NFL Combine

Completely understood. I tend to do that myself the majority of the time. -
Ex-Ozen star Tony Brown invited to NFL Combine
WOSgrad replied to DannyShapiroBE's topic in High School Football
I don't know that the trash talking is what CB was referring to. He is probably referring more to this: [Hidden Content] and this: [Hidden Content] and this: [Hidden Content] To his credit, Tony during his senior year kept his nose clean and showed himself as a leader, which, in combination with the stats that you noted, should keep his draft stock high. However, the above articles probably dictate that the most treacherous part of Tony's combine experience will probably be he interview portion of it. That being said, I wish him a world of success both at the Combine and in the NFL for as I have said before, from Winnie to Orange from Newton down to High Island, we are all represented by him. -
Well, you have to remember that in scheduling a game, that not only does the school that you are seeking fit into what you are trying to do to get ready for the season, your school must fit into what they are trying to do. As you implied by leaving several local teams out, there are only a handful of area teams who would really be a fit for PN-G to prepare them for the season. And quite frankly, there is probably nobody in Goose Creek ISD that fits that bill. Hence comes the next question, does PN-G fit into what the others are supposed to do pre-district? Coach Peevey at West Brook and whoever is scheduling for the new Beaumont school may not feel that PN-G fits their plans. Memorial less so, but it is still possible. Which leaves WO-S. And even when the school is a fit, it comes down to availability. As I am sure that Coach Faircloth would not delay taking a game and filling a spot, I know Coach Thompson feels the same. I can understand get angst at having to travel. But like the players, fans this season are going to have get used to the increased travel that the current realignment brings. Folks who are in the soon-to-be-no longer 22-5A have had it pretty easy travel wise forever. With the exception of the occasional outliers like Baytown or Livingston, most fans of any of the local schools would have at most a 45 minute trip to the opposing district team's back yard and it has been that way for as long as I can remember. Those days are over. It is the price paid for making 5A more "fair." I have been told time and again that folks were willing to pay that price. I guess we'll see in August.

I'm quite sure that if WO-S is not on their regular season schedule, they are scrimmaging. But I wouldn't speak too lowly of PN-G's non-district schedule, both Tomball and Huntsville are sold teams who will ensure that the Indians are ready for the rigors of their new district and the playoffs thereafter.

I hold out hope that a WO-S/Newton game will happen. The Mustangs are still looking for a 10th game and their Week 3 slot is available. However, hopes are dim as even I was not aware of the anger, and let's be clear again, it is by no means fear, it is ANGER, over the way that Newton has conducted business over the last couple of years with West Orange-Stark. And those who are running their mouths here and in social media, whether it is, as implied by at least one here who did so, at the bidding of some Newton coaches or on their own, are not doing anything to quench that anger.
