  9. They did not opt for Foreman, but remember the one who got that job was Thompson. Toby told me before he landed the Central job that he definitely coveted the WO-S job. He had not mentioned if either getting the Central, or ultimately the Shoemaker job changed that.
  10. 2019 FOOTBALL TEAM PREVIEWS COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL LIONS 2018 Record: 1-6 Overall, 1-1 District 2nd Place in TAPPS 6man District 4-III In 2018, the Community Christian Lions kept the distinction of being the only team in Southeast Texas to reach the playoffs in every year of its existence. New head coach Bryan Rawlins, though, looks to turn the Lions in more than just a consistent playoff team but a power in the 6man ranks for years to come. Rawlins realizes the task in front of him as three starters return on the offensive side of the ball and only 2 starters on defense. Head Coach: Bryan Rawlins Assistant Coaches: David Beck (Defensive Coordinator/Offensive Line/Defensive Line), J.C. Copley (Special Teams Coordinator/Wide Receiver/Defensive Backs), Cameron Childers (Assistant Special Teams Coordinator/Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs) Offense: Three starters return to the Community Christian offense which will operate out of the Hybrid Spread package in 2019. Leading the offense will be junior quarterback James Menard. Joining Menard in the backfield will be freshman running back Landen Hassler. Junior tight end Levi Rogers, senior wide out Ryan Davis and freshman receivers Isaac Rizzato and Gunnar Sparks will be key in the Lion passing attack. Defense: Two starters return to Community Christian 2-4 defense in 2019. Junior defensive end Levi Rogers will lead things up front. Senior defensive back Ryan Davis (1st team all-district) will team with Rizzato and Hassler (at strong safety). Special Teams: Menard (1st team all-district) will handle the kicking duties for Community Christian. Hassler and Rizzato will be the primary kick returners. Schedule: Aug. 30 - at Mineral Wells Community Christian, 6:00 pm Sept. 6 - Houston Sanchez, 6:00 pm Sept. 13 - at Houston Emery-Weiner, 6:00 pm Sept. 20 - OPEN Sept. 27 - Houston Mount Carmel, 6:00 pm Oct. 3 - OPEN Oct. 10 - at High Island, 7:00 pm Oct. 18 - OPEN Oct. 25 - at Baytown Christian, 6:00 pm* Nov. 1 - at Bellville Faith, 6:00 pm* Nov. 8 - OPEN
